Scot T was on the Timbers/Thorns dole during the OYSA/OPL split. Those days are long gone.

for one year. BSC specifically chose not to pick a side during those days.

Until they went all in for OYSA . . . right before Scot was announced as a Thorns coach.

        Ancient history though.

Who is in charge at FC?

I don't know what changed there, but they seem to be making very different bets and getting it right: always had good coaches, but partnerships was not really their thing. Teaming with NEU and now it appears BSC . . . this is something different from their past, but seems to be worker.

          What has changed there?

Same board as always. Only big changes over the last year were the hiring of new DoCs.

BSC and NEU lose their top female players (maybe two a year) to other clubs by u14. This is a way to grab some money on the way out. Genius. Also allows FC Portland to start passing out Koolaid to get those players coming to them instead of to Crossfire or GDA.

Money grab? Way off the mark. These programs cost half of RTC and covers coach salaries and field rental; no margin in it.

Both new DOC's at FC used to work for BSC. BSC has also worked with NEU in the past. This seems more about like-minded clubs finally working together for the greater good of the players. The cost of the program doesn't appear to be a money grab when the fee only covers field costs and coaching.

How many nights a week of team training do NEU and BSC offer their u12 girls outside of Pre-ECNL?

But they do take money away from the Timbers, and that is a good thing.

So two days a week for $1600-$1700/year. Is that same for NEU? Seems high!

sure is high, especially considering this included zero tournaments. we pay the same for our other player at a different club for 3x week and 3 tourneys.

not enough - we tied THUSC for 2nd and lost out on GD. More work next season!

With Dad as the volunteer coach, right? Gotta make sure DD always makes the team and starts every game!
