Let me tell you that all that matters very little. I am an old soccer parent. My kids are grown. But both my boys were very good soccer players, and both played for Oakwood. The older one was probably a little more talented. But it was the younger one who played in college. The difference was the younger one's desire. The kid spent hours in the backyard perfecting his shooting and dribbling; he juggled during recess (when he was very young) and after a snow storm he shoveled the back deck so that he could practice his moves. He had soccer on the brain. My older son loved soccer, but pretty much just practiced when the team did.

My advice to all these fanatical posters is to relax. Whether or not your son plays in college will be up to him or her, not you. Just enjoy your kids' soccer while it lasts, whatever their level.
Only fantasy is the one your living and still hanging on to about ow Your kids played for Oakwood and they didn't turn pro, didn't make national team and only one played in college (probably a poor program and he probably didn't get athletic money if you are saying he wasn't the better of your two kids. So epic fail bro. Ow sells the pro dream for boys and now girls. So what you are saying is ow did nothing for your kids except give them some recreation. Could have got that in the town program for a third of the price.

if thats the criteria for success then 99% of people on this site will fail
National team?? maybe 1 every 5 years
turn Pro??? play in college (not just make a roster as a frosh in college) actually play for 4 years- very small percentage
get Athletic $$$- some, but you want Academic $$$ more anyway its guaranteed
if all your kid got was recreation ,you did it wrong, all of mine got so much more

That's what OW is apparently trying to sell with new GDA. They are saying it is only way to get on the national team in the future. No more high school and signing ceremonies. That's the way they are selling it.

Glad you are amused. So, your kids, boys, played soccer for OW but now are grown ...?

How about you stop stalking teenage soccer players, then, and get your azz off this youth soccer board and maybe go post on your AARP forum about ear hair and sht? How about you go be amused by that?
