How did Oregon's ECNL teams end up such a mess?

Wait a minute. If you don't plaster it all over the internet it didn't happen.

Everyone knows there are a lot of girls out there that go to good schools and play soccer that don't announce it through a bullhorn.

In the small pool that is left in OYSA, Eugene's 99's are absolutely a perennial powerhouse. Won state cup last three years in a row. Decent showings at surf cup. Won crossfire premier bracket last summer. They and Bend's 98's (also multiple year state cup winners) are really the only OYSA teams that mostly stayed together and stayed strong (although Eugene has lost at least three players to ECNL).

In short they are a great team to use when considering the claim that TA clubs or OYSA clubs are just as successful getting girls to college as the ECNL teams are. Compare the best of what's left in OYSA to the ECNL clubs.

I didn't say I was a Eugene parent or even a fan. But yes, they are the best of what's left. So the ORIGINAL point of this post was that ECNL teams don't do any better job putting girls in college than OYSA teams. I am simply suggesting we compare the results of one of the best OYSA teams left to the ECNL teams. Or we could argue about what Eugene's team being the "tallest midget" means.
