And Eastside is a shell of it's former self. It had 1 good team but they've graduated. Again, best players from Eastside move to XF. This is why XF will be one of the half dozen clubs in the nation with teams in both ECNL and GDA. The rest will have to decide this spring. SU will go the GDA route because they know they don't have the talent to play ECNL.
This is an interesting assertion, 2 years ago 6-7 SU 01's went to XF to play ECNL when SU didn't have the option. How many SU 02 and 03 players went to XF ECNL this year? I'm not aware of any - I'm pretty sure they stayed with the Reign/SU.

Looks like Thorns are going to take their spot. Will be interesting to see.
Circling back to this - it looks like De Anza did in fact pass on GDA.

Can't speak for rest of country, but ECNL whipped GDA in Nor Cal this cycle, at least when it comes to recruiting teams.

                How embarrassing.

Rest of the country was the same story. Even in So Cal and Texas, the very best clubs stayed with ECNL and passed on GDA.

Famous coach Deza on De Anza took a job with Earthquakes to be DOC of their GDA. He is responsible for many YNT players and national ecnl championships. Many De Anza families are following him to the new club.

That's right. He'll likely work with all 4 teams not just "a team".

Doesn't matter. Doesn't make Thornz Asylum any better.
