NPL has been in wa for a long time. Oregon was no different with opl.

You must not know very much.

Washington had a US Club league, and still does - PSPL, but it never had an NPL. The only NPL's in the Northwest were the NWCL and the OPL. Now there will be an official NPL in Washington state, with champions going to NPL Finals each year, and, on the boys side, becoming eligible to participate in the ENPL.

You must not know very much.

            More impressive than OYSA Premier.

Isn't this is just the PSPL. We can have a discussion if Surf, SU, WP, Xfire, EFC, and 3RVs join. Otherwise it is of little interest.

It's the PSPL top division renamed as an NPL. There may be some more clubs join but it's doubtful you'll see much from the big guys - they have a pretty good cash cow going with their closed RCL league.

How many teams will OYSA lose in 2017 due to DA, GDA, ECNL?

                  ECNL -2
                  GDA - 4
                  DA - 18?

Ecnl- 10 (5 teams each club)
GDA- 4 teams (but rosters of 30-40+ so oysa loses more like 6 or 7 teams to GDA)
DA- 18 sounds about right. (Maybe more since DA teams carry bigger rosters)

The reason that OYSA is not in great shape is because they have outsourced running the leagues to Peregrine. There is a lot of profit baked into those league fees you pay to Peregrine. In the past that profit would get used in state to benefit youth soccer. Now, does anybody know what the Timbers are doing with the profits? I suspect it's a large number.

Are the Timbers just keeping the profits?

Why is a for-profit organization in the middle of this? We had a non-profit before. Now the Timbers have slipped into the middle. Why? Why do we need the Timbers to schedule the games and the referees?

Because OYSA was about to file for bankruptcy.

Follow the money. Yes, for-profits tend to keep their profits and do with as they please. Ain't it grand that oysa signed 10yr contract with them?
