Default NY Club Soccer League could use some geography help

In the NPL, Everton CT and FC New York (Albany) are in the East division and Brentwood and Massapequa are in the West.

Why create needless travel? Isn't that the point of geographic divisions?

I'd say it's divided by strength but they decided to be polite and call it East/West instead of D1/D2.

I don't care what it is meant to do. I'm telling you what they probably did.

Well, seeing that they have SUSA/Atletico in one division (strong) and Brentwood/Massapequa in the other division (not as strong), it looks like that to me.

They play a mixed schedule that produces 1 champion from 4-team playoff, so I don't think they would do it strictly that way. Also, the divisions don't vary from age to age.
