There is simply much too wide an array of talent levels on the average club team these days and because of that the whole message above is completely out the window. You can't expect to put players destined to play in a D1 program besides players destined to play at D2 or D3 programs and expect them all to equally benefit. It just doesn't happen that way. What is actually going on now is the upper tier players are leaving the US Club leagues in favor of leagues like the PDL and WPSL were they can play up against college level players. This is one of the big reasons why the clubs are all starting to form U20 teams.

#60 so the college coaches are not scouting players at ecnl showcases (by the way tell that to the 500 coaches at Sanford next December ) because they know there is not good competition. Your position is they are now scouting 14 and 15 year olds at w 20 teams. Are you serious?

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Braddock Road Stars Elite are excited to announce the addition of the club’s W-20 team. After the addition of the Stars Elite W-League team in 2014, the W-20 group is the final extension in a complete club model through the BRYC Elite Academy, which prepares players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally for the next level of play. Current BRYC ‘96 Elite coach, Mark Dolansky, will be the head coach for the Braddock Road W-20 team and will be assisted by Jim Abt.
The BRYC Elite Academy starts with the Junior Micro Academy at age 3 and goes through the Post-Graduate Academy. The Post-Graduate Academy, which is composed now of the W-20 and W-League teams, gives collegiate players the opportunity to return during the summer months to get the preparation necessary for when they return to their respective college preseason camps in the fall. Current high school players, who are part of the club’s College Track program, also benefit from the opportunity to train and compete against elite players.
“The W-League and W-20 groups are at the top of our development pyramid, and these players serve as great role models for our younger players in our academy system,” said Larry Best, W-League head coach and BRYC Girls DOC. “Having two post graduate level teams adds a larger pool of players which creates a more competitive training ground environment to help our players develop at a faster rate.”
With the addition, most players in the Braddock Road post-graduate pool have the ability to play on both the W-League and W-20 teams. This movement between teams allows for elite players coming back from injuries to get quality minutes with the W-20 team while playing in the right environment for their recovery. Similarly, young players who are succeeding at that level now have the opportunity to play up against more competitive, older players in the W-League.
Braddock Road will play eight games this season in the North Atlantic division. The conference is comprised of Northern Virginia, Washington Spirit Academy, and ETA United. Washington finished on top of the table last season in the South Atlantic Division. The Stars Elite W-20 team will look to have similar success in its first year as the W-League team, which reached the Northeastern Conference Championship in its inaugural season in 2014.
The first-ever Braddock Road W-20 game will be played at home on Thursday, May 21, against Northern Virginia. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Robinson Secondary School. Visit www.brycsoccer.com for more information.
