The sad truth is the puzzle pieces will never align for the USMNT. If the team has an elite goal scorer, they will be missing a playmaker. If they have an playmakers, their defense will be weak. The player pool will never be deep enough to be competitive. And if the USSF keeps hiring guys like Gregg, then missing the WC will become the norm.

They looked like U12s trying to play out of the back.

It will be interesting to see them up against Uruguay tomorrow. Uruguay brought a young team leaving out their Stars. No Suarez, Cavani, or Godin. No excuses for the US.

Uruguay is ranked 5th currently. Even their bench is stronger than our starters.

Wow, that is so disrespectful to U12s everywhere.

USMNT - Center back play was horrible. Zimmerman & Long both lack quality. This is what our DA produces. I know we have better options out there but USSF continues to try and force the narrative that the system (DA) is working and that the quality of player that it produces is on par with international play. I call BS. Just look back to 2005. Before USSF tried the fix the development system (pre DA). In 2005, the USMNT was ranked by FIFA in the top 10. Look at where we are now. Barely in the top 30. USSF will continue to go backwards until they admit their error and scrap the whole system.

This just in .... USMNT is still awful. B team or not, should not get dominated by Uruguay (population just larger than CT).

Who cares about their population, they’re fifth in the world. We weren’t dominated, not sure what game you were watching? We had more possession and more shots on goal, game was 1-1. We were missing most of our key players and played many youngsters. The team will be fine, the coach is trying things out in friendlies and building for the future qualifiers when it matters. Why would people not support the US team, makes no sense.

                    In other friendlies:

                    Brazil #2 lost to Peru #19 (0-1)

                    Colombia #8 tied Venezuela #26 (0-0)

                    Chile #14 lost to Honduras #67 (1-2)

None of those teams have the recent piss-poor history that we have and they certainly have talent .... all of which, when combined have a population considerably smaller than ours. All of them, except for brazil, are small fractions of our size. They are all far better than us and there is no excuse for it. We can't find 15 world class players in our country? are you joking? Stop accepting mediocrity for cash .... are you member of USSF?

When are you going to get it? It isn’t a priority over here. The best athletes play other sports. How is England in baseball or basketball? Get a clue.

The US will never have the burning desire to compete in soccer the way other countries do. Therefore never going to be world class.

Time for USSF to double down on Berhalter
