    Playing tournaments in other states...?

Return to play dates and actual play are emerging in other places, way ahead of NJ... So anyone thinking of going to places where they are opening up sooner, to play a tournament this summer? Asking kids, parents if they are up for it? How far would you go?..yeah, your kids won't have any practice time together because they can't get together here, but at the best levels they know how to play together, have been doing individual work, and just want to play. Or not?

So. Carolina Gov. says youth can play sports....

I'd be fine within a reasonable driving distance. Figure upstate NY or Mass down to VA or even NC?

Doubt these tournaments will be thrilled to have teams from this area showing up. I suppose all the northeast teams could all just play each other in another state.

Can't imagine any of these states wanting teams from NY or NJ coming to their tournaments. Also, if your team isn't allowed to practice in NJ why would you go to a tournament in another State having not practiced as a team since early March?

Have you seen practices at match fit? They are practically going backwards with development with each practice. Without practice they may actually place better.

Yes, if you’re going to places that have opened up because they’ve had very low levels of infection (basically 2/3’s of the rest of the country.) if you’re healthy in those places your risks from the virus are less than the risks you face driving to another state. As for that WaPo article about traveling “in a pandemic,” got an email the other day from RWJ Barnabas(NJ’s largest hospital system) which began, “Now that the pandemic has passed in NJ...”

Can’t spend your whole f@#$$ing life hiding from ghosts.

Why can't NJ teams got to PA, MD or VA for a soccer tournament. At least PA, MD and DE people haven't been scared to go to the beach or boardwalks since they've opened.

No, but what other option if going to a tournament out of state?

If you really had to go, you could stay at a campground
