Instead, there's fear because they have no idea what they're doing.
Which business clown are you talking about??

The orange one in the White House or the Goldman Sachs one in Trenton who signs executive orders forcing nursing homes and LTC facilities to take in sick patients? Can't imagine why NJ has at least 5K deaths related to those facilities. Fingers can be pointed all over the place about who made or didn't make dumb decisions but let's not pretend that there is only one business clown in town.

None of these debates gets anyone on a soccer field any sooner, which ultimately is what we all want for the kids as long as it is done in a safe way for all.

Just to end any thought of things starting back up soon NJYS just sent this email to all clubs. Coaches will be getting the email on Tuesday morning. There is no end date of the extension in the email.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the communication from our local, state and federal government about social and physical distancing, NJ Youth Soccer is extending its suspension of all affiliated and sanctioned soccer activities statewide. Our primary focus continues to be the safety and welfare of our players, coaches, referees and communities. For our member organizations (towns, clubs and leagues), this suspension includes, but is not limited to, all in-person events (e.g. practices, training, scrimmages, clinics, tryouts, games and tournaments). Moving forward, we will provide frequent updates as we monitor this issue daily and evaluate the opportunity to return to activity.
As US Youth Soccer State Associations across the country begin to institute new guidelines for youth sports activities, we are taking similar steps while following the directives from our Governor Murphy and the State of New Jersey. We trust many of us are all eager to get back on the field and start playing. That said, we need to be cognizant of our community’s rules and requirements. It is our goal to maintain a spirit of fun and enjoyment, while making sure we comply with all local rules to better protect the health of our community.
We hope to see you all safe, healthy and on the field soon. We Are New Jersey Youth Soccer!

And if you want a pretty good idea of what the "return to play" guidelines will look like go to Maryland Youth Soccer website. They have posted their 5 phase return to play plan. New Jersey and Maryland have tracked pretty similar in restrictions so I would guess that NJYS will put out something similar.

Thank you. Just read it. If we are following similar steps, it is very clear we won't go back to the field until Fall, the earliest.

Hopefully we return to action soon, enough of the virtual sessions and you tube videos! It’s like putting on a video cam if the beach and pretending you’re at the beach! Not the same!

Except you can go to the beach with hundreds of other people from other states. How many shoobies I saw going home on Sunday you'd think everything was normal.

No dates. Similar plan to Maryland. Hoping to be able to do the small group (10 people with social distancing) phase by early June. They mentioned they would be posting the presentation today at some point so I would suspect it will be on the NJYS website.

The National High School Assn published their guidelines yesterday. Interesting read as well if you google it.

below is the link. I understand the need to be cautious but IMO they are going to slow play this thing, no one wants to be one the putting anyone at risk. I vote for waivers if you are willing to let your kids play sign a waiver. No matter what we do, we can not eradicate Covid- 19 by wearing face masks. So one way or the other we are choosing some level of risk. Is it okay if 5 people die but not 100? Who chooses the number?

Agree. Whether it’s school, daycare, camp, gyms or sports everyone is going to have to sign a waiver to participate that holds the organizers harmless against COVID 19. Everyone will do their level best to sanitize and distance things but for some things it’s unreasonable and people are going to have to make a risk based decision that’s right for them and their families.
