All club teams cost 2-3k out of the gate per player for practices Fall-Spring, regular season games Fall and Spring and 3-5 Fall and Spring Tournaments. Then they all tend to differ on uniforms, ref fees and winter weekend tournaments. Some variation of those will run you another $250-$500. You can also add on as much as you want for extra team sponsored gear for the player and/or the family.

The biggest add on expense is definately the travel expenses, but that can vary greatly depending on the Club’s regional/national ambitions, which team your child plays for and their age. Bigger Club’s “A” Teams can travel all over the country. Smaller clubs will usually stay instate or boardering states. So yes, this can be hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars additionally.

Other expenses can include additional summer programs or tournaments. Things like Super Y League, “Summer Select”, camps, etc. These can be a few hundred to another 1k.

Right, wrong or otherwise, Club Soccer is expensive. That is the system. You can control certain aspects, first and foremost with your personal expectations. If you can afford it and your child is a top tier player, a large Club like STA, MF, CS, PDA, etc can be rewarding. However, if your child is not a top tier player, they can still play for these clubs on their “B” or “C” teams and it will most likely be a very frustrating and expensive experience. They are happy to take your money.

Its a business. In these situations be smart. Play for a smaller Club or even a good Town Travel team. Let your child develop and gain confidence for much less. Then if you want, spend extra money and find a good trainer to add to their development. Evaluate their play each year and their well being and maybe make the jump to a bigger program after a couple years.

I don’t know about obnoxious, I haven’t experienced that. Coaching seems good.

It is a town club run by a board. I have heard that typical politics come into play.

Yes the coaches were Not saying a word therefore encouraging the behaviour. Stay away. West Morris is good option.

Florham Park has some good teams but I wouldn’t get involved there unless you’re from the town.

Thank you for the clarification. From the earlier post, I misunderstood and thought 10K per kid just in fees to STA.

            BTW, PDA is 60-75K...

...if someone has 6 kids who all want to play ECNL.

People are rude and distributive on this vs helpful. Well done to this person below, good answers and actually looking to help.

All clubs cost 2-3K. People will have great and bad things to say about each of the clubs listed below.

Clubs in the area you are looking are in no order before people go crazy 🤦*♂️-

Match Fit - play in denville
STA - play in Morris plains
The Football Academy - NJ (all the old Center Court teams) - play in Florham Park
                Centercourt - Play in Gillette
Morris Elite - plays in Madison
West Morris - Play in Chester/Mendham
                Parsippany - play in Parsippany
East Hanover (town, but sometimes take other kids) - play in Hanover
                RDS - Couple regional spots.

People, instead of being distributive, help add to the list if I missed any teams and help this person. The World is crazy enough just now.

It's a shame we don't have better options in the area. Most team training is poor on the girls side for all these clubs. Maybe one or two good coaches out of all the clubs and they would only have a specific age group. Do your homework on the coach before picking one of these clubs.

I think you got most of them, the only other ones that I can think of that play EDP or above are:

Mt Olive (branch of STA, out of Mt Olive)
Magpies (not quite sure on area, I think Roxbury/Sparta)
FC Berna (Basking Ridge/Bernardsville but draws some Morris County players)
                    Florham Park
