    GDA Divisions next year?

When is USSF going to announce divisions for 2018-2019?

People are starting to make choices and get offers -- I would think they would want to know the divisions to understand how the league is organized -- both from a competitive and geographical perspective. It's one thing to know you have to travel to NY, but if they decide to combine it with Atlantic, that would mean travelling to PA or even DC weekly.

As it is now, NE is left with only 7 teams (2 of which are not competitive and may not even exist next year either, especially LISC who has not posted anything about tryouts for next year).

Agree that this not being clear is a big problem. Maybe such trivial details should be unimportant to GDa players but they are important to me as I am still need to be the chauffeur. Will there be a replacement club in Mass or will there now be increased travel to play GDA here? This matters so what is the answer for NE GDA?

Playing the same 4 teams over and over will not be fun, especially when the drive is 3-4 hours one way every weekend. It will become monotonous and robotic... hmmm isn’t that the problem with the men’s side and look where that got them.

Whereas playing your own Stars B team and Scorpions will be a great challenge.

They need to figure something out. If LISC and/or Empire drop out then there's no division left. No on wants to drive and play those two clubs any way. Maybe do some round robin weekends with Atlantic teams (even though it goes against the 1 game/weekend creed).

I love how people bought into the DA like it was going to be the end all be all and some of the top clubs in the northeast left because they saw through the BS. Now you are suggesting it follow the same rules as the ECNL to make it convient because the cost will be to high. US Soccer missed the chance to actually make something of this with the ECNL but was greedy and thought they could do it alone. They underestimated the strength of the ECNL and US Club Soccer. In year two they should be gaining ground but took 5 steps backwards.

What I find even funny is that their is only 3 or 4 clubs that are actually any good in the Northeast Confernece.
              Boston Breakers
              New York City
              FC Fury
              Oakwood

In the Atlantic only 2 teams
              Penn Fusion
              FC Virginia

There are 13 clubs left and only 5 or 6 are good. That does not sound like development for national level players.

OW only makes the list because they had weaker teams to beat up on. As much as you can believe TS, CT board said some OW players frantically looking for other teams. Any clubs left are going to have an even harder time recruiting players this year with the league in disarray. USSF's plan had many flaws and they needed to nail it this year to have any hope of success. They didn't. If the league survives it has to be smaller and more concentrated on the top talent, not just filling rosters. Even worse travel certainly is not appealing.

Nor is being an NT player on a roster with NPL level players

This was not about national level players. This was about trying to get rid of ecnl.

Initially it was about the NT. Then they saw they could possibly crush ECNL as an added bonus.

Sounds so well thought out and organized.

YEs. It's all gone swimmingly. How many clubs have dropped out of DA and gone back to ECNL so far?
