Why are we going here? NPL means nothing these days. It's s obvious with the crossover games and the state cup matches. Half the teams do not have the coveted 'NPL' next to their name and 90 percent of the games are competitive. NEFC NS is just like all other regional clubs in the state. A decent enough club with a few top teams in certain age groups...let's kill this thread it doesn't deserve legs.

That's totally false.
The travel landscape is now split between DA and ECNL. ECNL was the DA for girls until the DA got started. Now they are in a dogfight. The local landscape is New England NPL first then NEP. Team based NPL is basically just the top division for NEP. It all means something and to say that it doesn't is really dumb. I'm not a fan of all the leagues but it is what we have today.

The waters are muddy between the top Regional teams and the NPL teams. NEFC does not have any NPL teams they have two or so teams that play in the NPL bracket.

And no, there IS a definite delineation between the A and B NPL bracketS. There is no muddled waters. CLUB Designated NPL teams are in the A bracket. They own the licenses. The B NPL bracket are all teams that came from NEP and moved into that bracket based on their records. No license and can be relegared. Whether they chose to put the letters N.P.L. after their team name is insignificant. That means nothing. If that is what you are looking at, no wonder you are confused.

NEFC is also an NPL license holder. That is why their NEFC NPL designated teams in A bracket. NEFC NS is just a region and holds no license. That is why if they have teams that qualify to move up to NPL, they are in the B bracket, and never the A bracket. It really isn’t rocket science, but people seem to be very confused by this for some reason.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWell, yes and no. If the NS teams currently in NPL are doing well (not on bottom), then they will be NPL (B bracket) next season too. Same with any NEFC NS team atop of the NEP Premiership. They will get promoted into NPL (B bracket). If any of those teams finish atop the NPL B bracket, then they have an advantage over any bottom A bracket NPL team in that they are in position to win the NPL, and move on to the national championships. But you are correct in that ANY team who is in that NPL B bracket, also has the same opportunity.
