Why is it that the NEFC North Shore doesn't have any NPL teams?

Why are we going here? NPL means nothing these days. It's s obvious with the crossover games and the state cup matches. Half the teams do not have the coveted 'NPL' next to their name and 90 percent of the games are competitive. NEFC NS is just like all other regional clubs in the state. A decent enough club with a few top teams in certain age groups...let's kill this thread it doesn't deserve legs.

They have to earn their way in based on their record in NEP. Then those teams get moved into the NPL B bracket. I believe they do have a few that have done this. The NPL A bracket is for the clubs designated NPL team, which is located out of Mendon with their DA teams.

Where did we ask for your opinion on NPL in this thread?

Yep. NEFC NS 2001 & 2002 girls teams are both in NPL B bracket this year.

              That's totally false.

The travel landscape is now split between DA and ECNL. ECNL was the DA for girls until the DA got started. Now they are in a dogfight. The local landscape is New England NPL first then NEP. Team based NPL is basically just the top division for NEP. It all means something and to say that it doesn't is really dumb. I'm not a fan of all the leagues but it is what we have today.

FALSE. There are many teams in the NPL A bracket that do not have NPL designation. There are teams in the NPL B bracket that do not have NPL designation. The waters are muddy between the top Regional teams and the NPL teams. NEFC does not have any NPL teams they have two or so teams that play in the NPL bracket.

What part is false? Everything you wrote is what has been written over and over, and basically what was said above. However you are a bit incorrect actually. Yes, the team bracket of NPL (B bracket) is basically the top division of NEP with a new label, WITH THE ONE BIG EXCEPTION that they have the opportunity to crossover at the end of the season in a playoff with the club NPL bracket (A bracket), and actually become the NPL championship for their age group, and move on to nationals. NEP does not have that access.

No, it is you who are completely wrong buddy. NEFC does indeed have designated NPL teams (just look at their tryouts for proof). And no, there IS a definite delineation between the A and B NPL bracketS. There is no muddled waters. CLUB Designated NPL teams are in the A bracket. They own the licenses. The B NPL bracket are all teams that came from NEP and moved into that bracket based on their records. No license and can be relegared. Whether they chose to put the letters N.P.L. after their team name is insignificant. That means nothing. If that is what you are looking at, no wonder you are confused.

So can a club have an NPL licence for just one age group which seems like the case for NEFC NS? Aztec has to place an NPL team in every age group which has become quite embarrassing for them. Why would that not be the case for NEFC NS.

Aztec is an NPL license holder. Is why all of their NPL teams are in A bracket. And no, they cannot be relegated even if they are terrible. They could have their license taken away, but I assume that has to go to a vote.

NEFC is also an NPL license holder. That is why their NEFC NPL designated teams in A bracket. NEFC NS is just a region and holds no license. That is why if they have teams that qualify to move up to NPL, they are in the B bracket, and never the A bracket. It really isn’t rocket science, but people seem to be very confused by this for some reason.

So "NEFC NS" does not have NPL, just a few teams that get the chance to play against NPL teams in their B bracket and in the NPL playoffs. So in conclusion, they have no benefit over any other regional club that may have a team that could do the same thing.

Well, yes and no. If the NS teams currently in NPL are doing well (not on bottom), then they will be NPL (B bracket) next season too. Same with any NEFC NS team atop of the NEP Premiership. They will get promoted into NPL (B bracket). If any of those teams finish atop the NPL B bracket, then they have an advantage over any bottom A bracket NPL team in that they are in position to when the NPL and move on to the national championships. But you are correct in that ANY team who is in that NPL B bracket, has the same opportunity.
