Ok this is obviously a biased post written likely by someone who has an ax to grind. The previous DOC cared very little about WUP growing and expanding thus setting them back probably 5 years. There were some guys that were out of touch w today’s soccer world and still there continues to be a couple that remain. WUP recently has done some really positive things with the organization and FM is a huge part of that. They will lose a few players just like NEFC will and Stars and Mutiny and name whatever club you want , it’s the club carousel. WUP is heading in the right direction but it will take time and removal of a couple bad seeds. No club is perfect. And my children do not play for WUP, I am just an adult that wishes nothing but the best for all programs because it’s about the kids not the money makers.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Sorry but just having your kid in the program doesn't mean much except that he/she is probably not good enough to make NEFC. More than likely they were on the B team last year and now got promoted the A team. # 2 You live in Ludlow and have all your life. This is a town club not much more, look at their teams and all suck. A boys team won the national championship for NPL last year and 7 kids left. What does that tell you? FM, EM or ET for that matter can't help this club.Comment

The Pioneers were a club lost in a Ludlow time warp, not much more than a PVJSL team. The only thing that helped this club was the merger between Western United and the Pioneers. Fast forward a few years, all the Western United coaches are gone. Anyone who sat on the board from Western United are gone. Over 150 kids left the club last year for NEFC. Any DOC associated with the outside world is gone or may be gone. The Western United name on the logo is gone on their new uniform. In two years, they will remove anything with the name Western United. They will be back to the PVJSL Pioneers. Ground Hogs Day in Ludlow starring Bill Murray as the Pioneer president. Wait he is not Portuguese.Comment

Pioneers and Mutiny= Ludlow. GPS= Wilbraham. what you see is what used to be town and even recreational kids paying a huge price tag for soccer. I agree with most of what you said, except about NEFC. They are brand new and have had allot of problems. From fake tryouts on the boys side, where former WUP parents were telling non WUP kids, "I don't know why you are even bothering trying, out as the team is already set", and it was! To the girls side where they took anyone with a pulse. Some coaches are good, allot are not.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
All the clubs have some good and some not so good coaches and teams. You really need to do your research ahead of time. FC Stars West used to be the best, but right now GPS West is by far the most stable, with some very good coaches. As I said before, do your research by the team and coach, not by the club.Comment

Club Stability is good but wouldn't be first on my list of priorities. Coaching and teamates trump club. It really speaks to doing your research and knowing which age groups thrive in each club, it varies by age group and by gender.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

1. NEFC West
then way below
2. WUP
3 PVJS
4 GPS West there teams are horrible, they moved their sessions to southwick
5. Stars West

Needed to correct the list:

2. CFC (Not Really Western Mass, but just over the boarder)

5. FC Stars West (does not exist yet, we will see what they bring, but central is good)
6. Berkshire(NSL) - small only have a couple teams
7. Mutiny/PV Storm(NSL)
8. Springfield FC
9. RSL (Town Travel) - consistently beat the PVJSL teams in winter sessions.
10. PVJSL (Town Travel) - will fold in a few years with more towns moving to RSL each season - 8 additional towns just switched to RSL in the past year.Comment

Cfc doesn't even field teams yet and ranked 2nd ?.And Godawful playing soccer-GPS is just that awful except some boys teams,Pioneers Have been round forever and have 1,2 good teams ongirks side .Stars west redux haven't even gotten off ground yet and probably will not.Nefc has best facility and some good teams and only in their 1st season.1.Nefc 2.Pioneers .3everyone elseComment

CFC North exists and plays out of the bubble in East Windsor, CT. Not sure what you are smoking? GPS West - boys 2004 - top team is undefeated in the State Cup so far. NEFC only has a couple good teams as they poached those entire teams from WUP, which along with other defections has left WUP in a poor shape. GPS - West overall, not every team but overall, is the best managed and coached, of all clubs in Western Mass.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
