how does a team qualify for the following years state cup?

Specifically a boys, non npl team. Do you have to win your group in spring league or are there other ways you get in to the next years state cup?

Do they reject teams or does everyone who applies get in?

For the bigger clubs, it is pretty standard (at U14 and above) for the NPL level team to represent the club in state cup action for Super Group. Then they will add in a very strong regional team too. Most of those would now be in what is the Premier bracket. Smaller clubs will often put their strongest one or two teams in as well. But for the USYS prelims with all NSL teams, it appears to be a coaches decision based on how strong they think their team could do and compete.
