    What's Worse...

...Your so called elite teams entering a low level tournament like Beaverton, or your so called elite teams LOSING a low level tournament like Beaverton? Ouch.

This is the danger of sandbagging. If you win, like it appears the younger thorns will do, big deal. No respect in beating younger and weaker teams. But if you lose...oh boy. That is BAD.

What worse is that people like you continue to obsess over them to the point of posting endlessly about them. Insecurity isn't very attractive.

I know...it hurts watching the Copa girls celebrate. This was supposed to be the guaranteed trophy event. Probably hurts worse knowing your own "club's" 2001-02 team would demolish your older girls.

Another $10K spent this year and still no offers? Keep praying.

How did Crossfire and FCP teams do?

          Got stomped.

          I know, I know.... Just "C" teams.

But "we would beat you if we played you, but we won't because we're too awesome" sounds boring after a while.

If you don't enter, you don't get to gloat.

Sorry the truth bores you. Why don't you ask the thorns coaches to enter your team in surf cup? Or an ECNL event? Or play a year up in Lake Oswego?

Bragging about winning rec tournaments gets boring after a while.

Thorns have intentionally stayed as far away from the ECNL teams as they possibly could. They could have easily played in a variety of tournaments with other ECNL teams (like NWCL for just one example, or even FCP Winter Showcase). But they chose to avoid those matchups because they KNEW they would get obliterated. But, they thought, let's go play in a Silver level Beaverton Cup, get Westside to name the Silver bracket "Gold" and fool everybody into thinking we're all that. Except it didn't work. U18 team got beat outright and U16 got pushed around pretty good by an 02 club team. And the Timbers have the gall to call this "elite"? Sheesh...

Unlike CU and FC PDX who enjoy getting obliterated...great example.

It's not sandbagging if you're really not very good.

ECNL days were over before they started, particularly in Oregon.

it was fun while it lasted. well, maybe not. it depends on if you enjoy getting spanked hard and flushing wads of cash down the drown.

Too funny. Just getting stronger every year - unlike the Timbers and Thorns clubs.

You mean just like all the Timbers and Thorns clubs? Losing at Beaverton Cup? Not winning OYSA? Throttle hard in FWRL? That's harsh but it's the reality of the Timbers lemmings and clowns.
