Then OYSA taking those thorns academy girls from the "alliance" clubs they swindled, putting those girls on an all star team, and putting that team back into the same league as the team's they came from?
Then OYSA putting a blurb (lie) on their website saying 100% of OYSA teams support this?
And OYSA using cost as a selling point for thorns academy, saying we are cheaper than ECNL and offer the same experience, and then after convincing girls to quit their local teams joining a travel league that will cost even more than ECNL?
Or Thorns and ODP coaches spending an entire year "encouraging" players not to do high school soccer, but putting in their propaganda...I mean literature...that doing high school soccer is fine?
Or inviting girls to a preview night with a promise that they will be told before paying $100 for tryouts if they have a reasonable shot to make a team - only to tell every girl who shows up for preview nights that they should try out?
Yes, it certainly seems like OYSA has strict guidelines in place regarding ethical business practices and conflicts of interest.
My suggestion if you want OYSA to have an ounce of accountability to anyone is that you pray ECNL doesn't fold. Because right now the CHOICE we all have to send our girls to ECNL, thorns, or stay on local clubs is the only thing keeping OYSA in check. Sort of.

Makes sense if the GDA is coming and only taking the accepted clubs best most elite players to the GDA, then all the our local clubs are free to choose like CU and FC PDX to join the ECNL if they want, as they(ECNL) will need teams to fill this massive void. For some strange reason this sounds like a reboot of the failed OPL? Will pass.

Maybe you are confusing the Portland Thorns GDA teams coming to Oregon in 2017-18, with the current Thorns Academy. Sorry for your confusion.
All the best.

I think an alternative to Timbers' league is warranted - too many conflicts, too little accountability; OYSA hasn't found a way to provide oversight.
I use to be one of those "pro-unity" guys . . . the unity we have today may be worse than the old OYSA and worse than the OPL.

That's what all you folks cheering for the death of ECNL are cheering for. ECNL and CU/FCP are far from perfect. But as long as they exist to offer folks an alternative to the OYSA/Thorns monopoly, soccer will be better off.
With the GDA coming to the PORTLAND THORNS in 2017 these parents won't be subject to being held hostage to a local clubs delusional vision of local area girls club teams (10) of them being forced to travel to slaughter for the sake of unity or the club. T
In the future they will have a choice as no local club will be in the GDA.
Break up all the monopolies and bring order out of this insanity.

WT OPC members' kids are grown. Which TA clubs and coaches are you talking about?

I've seen you work pretty darn hard to ensure that the future new GDA doesn't happen.
Likely to keep your job. You aren't a parent.
