We watched the game tonight was close game could have went either way.
Lies. They were missing 3 players at the Crash, not 8.

At Xfire Challenge they were in the "silver" division, right? So what you're saying is that the Thorns might be competitive in the "silver" division too. Maybe.

No you are wrong. 1/2 the team was gone at regionals and or on vacation. This is a new team. Think what you want.

No gold. And according to scores posted they held their own. They played some tuff teams and competed. Looks to be a good team. They played Thorns and held their own also.

Why be a hater? Are You mad because ***C gave the T academy a run for their money and almost beat them?

Please do not lie about something that is so easily looked up. Vancouver and cfc played in the lower division at Crossfire. The tournament called it "gold," but there was a super group above it. Cfc won the lower division. Vancouver won two and lost one and lost in the semifinals. Eugene (inexplicably) played in the higher bracket and won one and lost two. This information is all on the crossfire website.

So basically your argument is that Thorns would have done slightly better than Vancouver at Crossfire. Which I actually agree with!

Pool play doesn't always mean "C" team....FCP has a different roster every time we play them. You never know if they are A B or C players we are playing...I feel sorry for the C players getting pushed out of their positions because they bring down players to get results..how does that work? C players pay the cost for A&B players to get more time on the ball?

Call it Gold if you want but it was 2nd division.

ECNL (A) players don't play down on the C and D teams. No need as the C team is competitive with Timbers A teams anyway

Second division at crossfire tournament is still better competition then any top division in any oregon tournament...did you notice in many of the age groups crossfire attracted other top regional teams like San diego & arsenal & and even mustang?

It is always a great tournament. It is baffling to me why thorns wouldn't do it, but would choose Beaverton instead. Unless they are trying to stay away from ECNL and out of state teams. I'm not trying to be snarky - at all. But if you call yourself elite and the fledgling development academy takes you as one of their first 25 teams, it is confusing and not a good look to choose Beaverton when Crossfire is less than three hours away by car. The Vancouver result last night might explain it though.

I dint see FCP ECNL or crossfire ECNL in either of the Crossfire divisions. Gu16 super group is indeed a super group of teams that have been playing and practicing together for a while now. Gold division looks about the sAmerican as Beaverton cup. Why not throw in a local tournament for practice. Just like scrimmaging your B team....

Also if more of our local talent would enter into the local oregon tournaments we wouldn't have to pay so much to travel...
