Tom tried and tried and tried and finally he has to merge with Crossfire and they have to bring FC along and he finally gets accepted. Long after many other cities had their clubs accepted. Heck, Utah and Boise got in before Portland. Now, with the GDA, ECNL is on the verge of becoming irrelevant, if not folding all together. All that work, all those hopes and dreams, all to see it being to unravel two years in. And the thing lost in all of this, after it took Thusc five years to get accepted, the next greatest thing, the GDA comes along and the Thorns are charter members. No five year wait. No having to beg, borrow and steal. No having to begrudgingly bring FCP along much less to merge with a bitter rival in Crossfire. Poor Thusc. And really, poor Crossfire and FCP. All that hard work, and in a year or so, poof, it will be all gone.

FCP was already going down. Their poor development mixed with snake oil recruitment tactics was only going to last so long. Clive would have thought ecnl was rediculous and the current UP coaches are dinosaurs who dont know the current game.
Give it another few years and unless things change drastically, their model will not stay.

So let's see, Thorns got into the DA as a charter member. And Portland ECNL got in after the league got watered down. The ECNL clowns are so funny.
