Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYou may be surprised. The girls who typically really shine in high school are those who are solid good. They get awards that they would never get in club or ODP or ECNL or academy. With combined age groups of the academy we are not talking about that many girls. You might be surprised to find that not all of the best players play on significant high school teams. It is a recipe for injury so many will gladly not participate.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThat is where you are mistaken. When the same people who run the league run the Thorns, they can do whatever they want. And you Alliance sheep keep sending your best and brightest off to thorns academy. Sort of like the frog in the pot of boiling water. You don't even realize what is happening to you until your club's B team all of a sudden has to play against the thorns all stars. You have no one to blame but yourselves.

The ECNL just took 10 teams from Oregon and threw out a net far too big for the talent level provided by these two local clubs. This was a convenient way to 'run away' from the OYSA. The DOC's said let's try this route out of pure spite & pride and with very little reason or real wisdom behind this impulsive sadistic leap. You actually have a club to blame, and the ECNL on the first go around--now you have no one else to blame but yourselves.
