Clbus involved are the usual suspects:

      LOSC
      FC Portland
      BSD
      HSC
      NEU
      THUSC

I imagine TA clubs will not be joining this (and may have contractual obligations to put their non-DA teams in OYSA). Non-metro clubs aren't being allowed in. And there's plenty of otherwise eligible clubs who compete in non-premier (i.e. excluding ADF) who aren't on the list yet, including all the Crossfire clubs other than LOSC; PCU, LYS, Southside, many of the Southeast clubs, and the Vancouver clubs (who might not be eligible either).

The main value propositions for this seem to be:

      * Avoiding travel
      * Not giving any money to Peregrine Sports.

No word as to what the fees for this league will be, or whether playing conditions (referees per match, other technical matters) will differ from OYSA.

Not even a registration link that I could see, which seems odd.

Fabulous, I'm surprised that it took this long for the non-Timbers Alliance, Portland area clubs to re-wave the middle finger at the Timbers and OYSA.

Cascade Independent is an OYSA league.

Looks like a great idea for clubs that have a lot of D2 and lower D1 teams (Losc, BSC, etc) who don't want to travel more than 10 miles to a game. Kinda like Rec. So same 4 clubs will just scrimmage each other all year and play for something like Presidents Cup.. or perhaps they will call it Cascadia Cup?

                  This is interesting...
"Open only to Portland Metro Clubs for now (goal is limit travel cost). This league is not for profit; after paying all costs, any surplus will be contributed to the club’s field development fund. Target 1 game a weekend."

So what "club" is going to use the surplus for their field fund??

Not sure who posted this thread or why anyone would have any objections to this - the Timbers/OYSA relationship is bad for Oregon soccer a great number of clubs (alliance and non-alliance) want it to end.

A few clubs decided they don't want to feed the monster anymore but still want to stay in OYSA. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is a typo - should be plural possessive. Any surplus will go to OYSA for field designated fund or back to the participant clubs with a request the funds be used for their fields.

League is $75-$100 less than the Timbers' league, so not sure how much surplus there is going to be the first year, but goal is that surpluses go back into the game.

                        What club gets the "surplus"?
Yes it's great these clubs want to create their own little exclusive league where they can draw a circle on a map and decide who they want in... looks like mommy and daddy don't want to drive to Gresham to play those Mexican kids. Sounds great for Oregon Soccer!!

Not sure what the deal is with the racial stereotyping, but Hillsboro and Santos are both heavily Hispanic clubs and are playing in the indy league.

                            Santos not on list.
The predominantly white clubs are though.. BSC/Thusc/FC Portland/LOSC... wow
