GPS wants to expand into CT but they have not found a real partner. They have a toe hold in Madison because one of their guys is a buddy of the town DOC. However, GPS no longer has the town contract. Shoreline is just not a very strong partner but GPS is not very discriminating. Sporting has been mentioned. I don't think Ginga is an option because it's a culture clash. They could pick off one of the Rush branches. Lot of squabbling in Rushland. JSal has really alienated his underlings and someone is bound to jump ship. In fact I am surprised people have put up with him this long.

Lol. Rubbish. All of it. GPS is garbage. 5p teams at every age group and they all stink. Are people wrestling for top of the heap? Gps should worry about their crappy product in mass, ri, etc. Sure spread to the shoreline. Lol. Heck of a place to stick your tentpole.

I agree that GPS is terrible. They just keep expanding everywhere. Quality is horrific. But that is why they will be moving to CT. Easier if they can acquire an existing club rather than start from scratch. Shoreline is a perfect target: they are are weak and need propping up.

Wilton is the only decent Rush branch but I could see JS sell out. I could see GPS going for Sporting (who, according to another thread might be going through some growing pains). Shoreline is petty weak overall. Not really sure who else GPS could target. Most of the other decently sized clubs seem content to operate independently

The Wilton branch is very good and competes in the market with some very good coaches. They lose some of their best players to bigger clubs but they are a very good option for those who can't make top rosters or ones that cant commit. JS has tried to create a patchwork of branches but has done a poor job replicating Wilton. He personally runs the branch out of Waterbury and that is a crap show. He is losing players, coaches and the parents are ready to ***** him. His branch in Guilford is average in a weak part of the state. He tried and failed in Farmington with Dave V. And he tried and failed in Bristol. He is also trying to expand into RI and that is also a crap show. Having said all that JS probably could care less, he is making a crap ton of money selling spots to his lucrative camps and international tours. Keep feeding the monster people JS will run this venture into the ground after pocketing mega cash and will pop up somewhere else with a new bottle of snake oil. Already went through this with him and now realize there really is a sucker born every minute. Good luck to you, hope it works out better for you all.

Which means if GS offered him a decent payout he'd probably bail. It's how he operates. Surprising it's lasted this long

Does JS own the RI Rush franchise too?

Yes, he has licensed it to a former coach of NEFC. He brought a couple of decent players with him but overall the program is weak. He is pushing into MA as well. Very similar model to GPS. Gobble up territory as fast as you can. Not to concerned with level of play.

JS will not bail on Rush, its too lucrative for him. The real money is not in the teams it's the summer camps and international tours. He just needs to keep the club in play. Doesn't matter if they are good or not. It's about the numbers. He needs a platform to draw customers for tours.

Hey, we went on one of those tours. Fun stuff. Kids played an ac milan junior team. Great fun in italy. Saw the country, played alot of soccer. Boys finished well in their edp league and it's a chunk cheaper to play locally. Not everyone needs to haul their kids to the usual places. Some good players in our local branch. Nice parents. To each, their own

I did not say they weren't fun and enjoyable. My point is the JS would never sell out because having a steady supply of customers is very important when sticking these trips. He would never walk away from this opportunity.
