North. Carolina just smashes the ball forward and puts teams under so much pressure. Cuse could not handle it but others can. UNC bullied Cuse

Anyone can lose but BC is the best New England team this year.
Agreed. UConn was arguably even for a few years. Its lonely at the top this year.

          Short answer is yes

Except that would mean they need an At Large Bid, which isn't going to happen at this point. They already have too many losses and haven't beat anyone of substance.

Bingo. Speaks to the difference between what we think of as top soccer around and the real deal. It's a mistake to think of them as just a dump and run team. The have a GREAT roster and use all that talent to get after it. It's like the Pats in a hurry up mode. No diminishes them as just athletes playing direct.

Long answer...no. To match them you need depth and athletes. But there are many teams out there that are capable of beating UNC. For all the past titles, I dont think any coach does LESS with more these days than Dorrance.

I have a serious question for someone who really knows the answer. Why is Harvard higher ranked than so many teams that look better to me out of stronger conferences?

Well we agree on one thing. BC, who they beat, is not a team of substance.

Bryant does not have a decent win on their schedule nor will they. They could win all the rest of their games and lose in PK's in conference final and have NO chance of making the NCAA tourny

BC may not be a team of "substance"....whatever that means. But they are sitting in their eyrie, looking down their crooked beaks at all the rest of New England. Your criticism of the Eagles says as much, if not more, about the terrible level of play across the entire region, than it does about our fine, feathered friends soaring lofty Heights.

Agreed again. What BC seems to have, unlike its predecessors of the past 5 seasons, is somewhat of a defense. It has yielded only 1 goal in 380 minutes of ACC play. Before that though, they yielded 3 to W&M, others to Vandy and Harvard, and more to James Madison. So which is the real D? Have they really improved? It will be easy to determine as FSU, UNC, Duke, and UVA are soon to come. If they hold the score down and are competitive, maybe they can call themselves a tier 2 ACC team and actually make their own conference tournament in years. If they get their beaks scrunched, they can return to their comfortable nest in the ACC basement. They will need to take care of Miami and Pitt though to reign there. Last season lowly Louisville beat them. Surprising that Syracuse is not on this year's schedule. So let's see what their flight path will be.

Outside of the three Boston schools, BC will play none of the other 6 teams in this ranking. So such a ranking is meaningless, just guesswork. All the above teams are totally invested in their conference play. This is irrelevant to them.
