there are how many teams in the LL class?
how many have made it to the finals since 2013?
how many that were stepping up in class?

i dont care that you have some bone to pick- but the reality is no one wants them on their side of the bracket in any class- they arent an easy out, and there are only a few teams that you can say that about every year, never mind every year

No one is underestimating them. Their records are always solid and believe me our school doesn't like playing them. They just haven't been able to seal the deal the last few years. Of the last 5 years they missed on trip to the FICIA finals, won 1 final, lost three.

        That’s not terrible
They’ve been to the conf final in a very good conf 4 of the last 5

Just happy to be talking about soccer and not global pandemics or riots

Well, I will give it to jack...every year he sets his team up, playing pansies until later in the season.

i do believe everyone in the conference plays each other - so everyone gets to play the same "pansies"
the last 2 weeks of the FCIAC reg season is usually great

Will be interesting whom the FCIAC serves up to lose to the CCC in the LL finals this year.

Presumably GHS picks up a bunch of DA kids? No one is dumb enough to give senior and a chance for a state title for the prospects of playing in a joke start up

You would be shocked. OW always seems to pull the wool over the sheep's eyes .... Can they do it again? Not betting against them.

lol true. They suckered them in to GDA and that worked out so well ;) At least on paper, kids are allowed to play high school with GAL. Of course, that won't work in CT and even in other states it's nearly impossible to do club + HS at the same time.

If STJ who returns almost everyone will indeed drop down to L as the CIAC website says, there is a very good chance that if HS soccer happens this year there could once again be no FCIAC team in the LL finals and that we could have a rematch between Glastonbury and Southington. S'ton returns most of their team which surprised everyone by getting as far as they did LY, and for GHS the graduation of their AA midfielder who came up clutch in the LL semifinals last year figures to be offset by the return of several academy players and GHS' go to scorer from last year would also be back (was only a junior LY). The regular season meeting between those two (scheduled tentatively for Friday October 16 if it happens) could be the game of the year since most of the bigger names on St. Joe's schedule figure to take a step back this year. And who wouldn't want a finals rematch after last year's game? As a GHS fan, it doesn't get any better than what happened last year- winning a championship on the anniversary of the saddest day in our history (Nov 23 2012), albeit against a different opponent.

Feel bad for Guilford which coming off an L title now has a new coach and would now have to compete with an FCIAC powerhouse in Class L to repeat. LL was loaded last year and just because STJ lost a narrow decision to another FCIAC power in the quarters doesn't mean they aren't good enough for LL. They did win LL in '13. But the CIAC has their own way of working those things out with the "success factor."

Trumbull truly is like the Yankees of CT HS soccer, in that they won many state titles in the 90s and 2000s but none in the 2010s. They were picked by many to be a sleeper last year and potentially challenge the top three, but conceded six to Staples and it never really got that much better from there. This year if the season happens they could definitely rise in the standings only because the likes of RHS and Staples lose a lot as you say. THS has had some decent teams recently but overall they been overtaken by both their longtime in town rival (ST Joes) and their longtime state tournament rival (Glastonbury) in the past decade.

Over rated coach and over rated players. They won't do anything this year and no one should expect them to.
