Everyone reading this, please take a look at the GA Northeast alignment and then look at the Northeast DPL alignment

    GA - https://www.soccerwire.com/wp-conten...GX0AEmIU0.jpeg
    DPL - https://www.facebook.com/DPLeague/ph...12080/?__cft__[0]=AZXJ38JSAEx3OAaE3CJXKcFROocW3W-1uB0ePrcHIn9u8_C4bpDQ2iCMLOBAOCn2VGTEQBI0kQeXE8KWZ LyCxmY3aOxEp0uMomTcTfDkoTDF28crmmH_kiHzz2kGOoPCA9L 5lLqjRBCEeaBf2Wa1HOb3fVlOUKFIPvQChJjuXX2bTA&__tn__ =EH-R

What clubs from GA are missing from DPL? Every single club from NJ, NY & CT

What are those clubs doing with their second teams? Those teams are playing in National League under USYS

Boys MLS league will be sanctioned by USYS - https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/...ic-partnership

Highly likely that GA will also be sanctioned by USYS also

Exactly the way most DAs wanted it to go. All staying together. Think of the benefits to the clubs, and the potential opportunities for the players, when all can be registered with the same governing body

If GA teams become sanctioned does that mean the DPL teams will also? This is getting so confusing.

It's not about the teams being sanctioned it's about the leagues being sanctioned. If GA goes under USYS and USYS already has the National League in place, there would be no need for DPL. Their pathway would be GA > National League etc. If these things actually happen the DPL will just be another league and will likely not be sanctioned by USYS or US Club.

These are not core beliefs, these are facts.

You have no factual information to share nor to back up the false claims you continue to make about the DPL. When all else fails you accuse the person you don't agree with of being associated with Surf.

Top teams from CT Rush, Ginga, SCP & Sporting who all played National League North Atlantic last year will enter National League New England this year.

CFC North had branches play EDP last year and are now taking their NEP NPL teams and entering them into National League New England this year.

Oakwood and Yankee had teams in NEP NPL last year and will put them in National League New England this year.

Juventus Boston has grown and will be a huge club in MA and RI. Ton of former GPS coaches who are bringing teams to them.

New England Surf is former GPS and Valeo directors bringing top teams with them to the new club.

Rush New England existed in MA before, had to affiliate with GPS to enter NEP and is now back under the Rush brand.

Rhode Island Surf is a combination of former GPS RI and NEFC Southeast teams.

Today EDP added Seacoast MA and Western United Pioneers to National League New England.

DPL is highly respected and sought after. Many clubs want to be included.
I hope we can drop the EDP comparison, there is no comparison.

For those of you interested more in DPL:

The Development Player League (DPL) is designed to expand the Girls Academy (GA) player pool for participating clubs. The league creates a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring (GA) players, bridging the gap between club soccer and (GA) soccer.

The DPL provides a clear pathway for players who show the potential to make the jump to the (GA) level of play. The DPL teams will offer players who excel to have the opportunity to be called up as a Development Player for their respective Girls Academy teams.

DPL representatives – including commissioner Sean Carey – have stated they are currently being “inundated with requests from clubs to expand the DPL from all areas of the country.”

In addition to competing against each other in league play, DPL teams have also competed in many of the nation’s top college showcase events, where they have won divisions against members of the ECNL, US Youth Soccer National League and other high-level national or regional leagues. As an example, in 2019 the Dallas Texans DPL 2005 Girls swept the Jefferson Cup‘s Elite Orange Division against A-teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.

Expansion over the past couple years has increased the reach of the DPL from an initial group of DA Southwest Conference clubs to a point where it now plays in three regions across the country: West, Southwest and East. Competition spans across the U13-U19 age groups including 144 teams from 24 clubs, but those numbers will likely increase significantly in the near future as the new Girls Academy League takes shape.

Although the DPL’s Girls Academy League will be primarily composed of former DA clubs, it will not be strictly limited to them. The DPL has stated that it will continue to provide its clubs with flexibility in the following two key areas:

*Permission for all players in the Girls Academy League to participate in high school soccer.
Revising the substitution rules to encourage clubs to better utilize their player pools, especially when showcasing their players to college coaches.
In addition, the new Academy League will feature cross-conference matches, college showcases and a National Championship Series for the 2020-2021 season.

The release from DPL leadership states:

“We strongly believe that strong leadership from some of the most talented organizations in our country will be able to maneuver these difficult times and unite, providing our players with a league and showcase platform that will exceed the level of the DA through clear communication, honest feedback and loyalty to our membership. As disappointed as we are in the decision from our Federation, we feel we have a unique opportunity to take the reins and introduce a more collaborative approach to player development.”

The launch of the DPL’s new Academy venture is likely to play an influential role in the national youth soccer landscape, since its organized by many of the highest-level clubs in the country. Based heavily in Southern California and Texas, it encompasses many clubs which produce an inordinate percentage of U.S. Youth National Team and professional players.

Cfc north had branches play edp last year and are now taking their nep npl teams and entering them into national league new england this year. Dpl is girls only starting at u13 and cfc top two teams are in ecnl. At best this would be third cfc team and likely diluted given the regional structure.

Oakwood and yankee had teams in nep npl last year and will put them in national league new england this year. Oakwood second team. Yankee - well documented on ct board of their struggles. That said makes sense for their teams to play more local fixtures with competition level similar to nep.

Juventus boston has grown and will be a huge club in ma and ri. Ton of former gps coaches who are bringing teams to them. 1) "will be a huge club" pretty strong statement regarding a club that struggled old nsl. 2) "former gps coaches" is that a positive or negative? 3) check ma board on in fighting already within leadership.

New england surf is former gps and valeo directors bringing top teams with them to the new club. I am confused. I thought gps was at juventus? Valeo - strong boys club but this discussion is about girls.

Rush new england existed in ma before, had to affiliate with gps to enter nep and is now back under the rush brand. Small club. Edp looks to be good fit.

Rhode island surf is a combination of former gps ri and nefc southeast teams. Well documented and will not rehash here but remember they first tried to get into dpl.

Today edp added seacoast ma and western united pioneers to national league new england.
smaller clubs. Edp looks to be good fit.

This information is outdated an inaccurate. The above all made sense prior to the DA folding but now that the boys, and likely the girls, will register players through USYS for the MLS-EYDP and GA respectively, the DPL no longer serves the purpose. Look outside of MA to confirm. Not one other Northeast GA club has entered the DPL.

Sean Carey resigned from the DPL around 2-3 weeks ago. Again your information is completely outdated.

It’s ECNL or nothing. Every club not connected to ECNL is just glorified travel town soccer.
                      Stop fighting over the scraps.

Scorpions or FC Stars are the only clubs that are ECNL and they are in MA.
                        Nothing in RI.
Everyone arguing on RI thread about SURF, EDP vs DPL wasting your time.
None of it matters once you leave RI.

Being brand new, will RI surf be fielding teams at each age group this year? Or will some players be forced to play up due to lack of players? I would call surf directly but I don't trust the salesman youth coach style (not just surf).

RI Surf will have single age group teams as they have most of NEFC SE and GPS RI kids and coaches.

There were an awful lot of teams practicing the other night, and they looked to range from U10 (or younger maybe) to teens who probably drove themselves there. More were scheduled for last night, too, but got rained out.

I think SURF will have all the players they need after stealing them and negative marketing against Bayside. However EDP was the wrong direction so they may find they start with a lot of players buying the big dream but will start losing them mid year when the families realize what they traded 'up' for. Bayside will quietly watch and wait for their players to return. NEFC will sadly fold. The other clubs in RI will have filled their rosters... SURF parents will be SOL.
