    What is typical scholarship offer

A few schools in the top 50, in terms of RPI have expressed interest in her. She is a good player but not some stud. She is a midfielder. Any idea what the range would be?

Midfielders get the least amount. My guess is that they will offer 35% to 50% if fully funded. Tag on academic money and you will probably be at 75%

Midfielders? No one comes in as a midfielder or target or center back. Typical is as varied and specific to situation. And it lasts one year. Then discretionary. Most programs split the scholarships amongst many kids and scenarios and it always changes. It ensures that kids keep working and coaches keep looking

Mumbo Jumbo. Thanks for no advice. Players get recruited based upon the needs of the team in specific positions. What a clown

Assuming it's fully funded - weaker player gets 25%, midlevel player 40-50%, top recruit 75%. Sounds like the OP may be mid to low level if he thinks she's just ok and is talking to top programs. Tough competition for spots and money at the better programs

This is OP. I try to be objective. My daughter is stong player, physical, fast, but is not some scoring phenom. She is probably in the top fifth of her team. Thanks for your feedback. It looks like she is tracking well then.

Typical D1 or D2 offer starts with an early read on grades and SAT scores. Probable academic award is determined from early read. Soccer money is then tacked onto probable academic money. Total for girls can range from 25% to 100% of tuition, room and board . Total for boys can range from 10% to 100% of tuition, room and board. If the coach asks to see your most recent grades and test scores, that’s real interest and the start of the process. A good question to ask a coach when trying to gauge interest is, are you interested in seeing my grades to do an early read?

A full scholarship based solely on athletic money does not exist. Every college presentation tells that.

How can it be that there are no full scholarships? Some families make too much money and some schools only offer academic money for the rare few. So, if they want your kid and you make too much and your kid is not a genius are you saying they will not come up with the money?

Is this what it's all about? This is why I deal with crazy soccer parents? Everyone chasing scholarship offers?

A large roster will lower the average scholarship. A smaller roster also will result in more playing time. Also if its a football school you can probably assume they're fully funded and have more scholarship money available.

Many schools will give so called "academic" money to sweeten the pot above what a coach can offer with athletic $. it usually is more than they would get if they were applying without sports. And since D3 has no athletic $ the same is true - "academic" $ even though the student athlete might be an average applicant for that school. You want as much academic money as you can get because it sticks for all four years

If a father tells you his kid got a free ride, be rude and tell him to show you the paperwork. If he finds that strange just tell him there’s a lot of bull floating around about Scholarships.

Dads brag like no tomorrow and it’s all bull, you pretty well would know if a kid got a super deal by seeing his PT first year and after.
Those kids on the bench ain’t getting shAt, there’s a dad running around our town claiming his kid got money from a reputable D1 school, but I know better from another parents kid at the institute, and our local kid literally gets zero minutes, been going on for three seasons now.
Parents pay and that funds the needs, every school has um, and coaches need um.
