A good teammate doesn’t make her a great coach and recruiter.

Public school aid is paltry in comparison. Then take into account instruction where the big state schools may have 50 kids taught by a grad student vs 20 taught by a professor and the void grows.
Yes there is general info out there, but it still can cary person to person. If you have something they really want, they'll up the ante. If you're a very average applicant, don't except as much.

They shouldn't forget what's in the back yard. They had no relationship with CFC when my kid played. I never saw Lenny at an event. CFC United playing the Stars one would think on occasion someone from UConn would show up. Some of the top talent in year's past were never approached by UConn. They need to get more involved at the club level and be visible to the top ECNL and GDA clubs in the Northeast.

Most kids go to school within a couple hours of home. They want family and friends to watch them play.

What's in their back yard? HA! CFC had two decent age groups from last year .... that is it ... the rest of the entire club is as bad as FSA. No telling if those two age groups will have a repeat performance this year but it would not surprise me if they also come back to earth ..... please don't forget that her little Lucy is part of the OW cult! Which club do you now think just got a pipeline to UCONN???

Oakwood definitely the club now for Uconn women. She's a Glastonbury resident, sends her own kid to Oakwood and is seen there often

You’re naive. OW doesn’t have the best talent. she has the ability to get the best players from all over the world as witnessed her grabbing that international recently. She’ll cherry pick the absolute best player from OW if she wants but she won’t limit herself to that mediocre talent pool.

lol OW koolaid drinkers want to THINK she'll shop at OW. If she's a good coach doing her job she'll shop everywhere. It's about the talent who will help her win

As a reminder coaches shop for players, not teams. Yes CFC and FSA teams aren't setting the world on fire, neither is OW. but there may be local players that are of interest to her. Easy enough for her or an assistant to come watch some games at no cost and a few hours of time. The beauty of recruiting an in state student is they qualify for cheaper tuition and you can offer them a smaller package. Frees up money for out of state players

Yes, this is the perfect solution to bringing back Uconn to prominence. Recruiting a bunch of local Oakwood kids.

Geno lives locally as well. Perhaps he should keep it local and focus on AAU kids from Glastonbury.

The one thing about the Oakwood crowd is that you never disappoint.

I'm now convinced that a u12 parent is leading the charge behind these delusional posts.

Do you realize that MR has lived in Glastonbury for years and has been the primary recruiter for the last several years.

They have a insanely large roster and take local kids every year.

Another path to Uconn is by getting a 3.0 gpa and being mid pack in your HS class

A 3.0 gets you UCONN Waterbury or Stamford, not Storrs. It's no longer the safety school it once was. Many families can't afford pricey private colleges any longer so the demand for in state tuition has grown exponentially
