    Girls 01 Rankings

Can we get someone with knowledge of these teams a preliminary ranking for the 2013/14 season?

    #2
Top five in no particular order:

Vancouver Timbers should have two top five teams.
    FC Portland Academy
    CFC
    Eastside

Of course things change with tryouts and defections. Lake Oswego has made big improvements. Thusc has talented kids and could eventually be a factor. EMFC seems like it should be a top team but it sounds like the four hour round trips each weekend to play in pdx are an obstacle for some (I don't blame them, add in 2+ hour window for warmups and games and it's an all day commitment).

Really I think at this age girls are changing so much and individuals mature and grow so fast in their soccer skills, that it is pretty hard to set any reasonable ranking. Things start to settle a bit after U12, in my opinion.

Opps, I missed Copa T/S in my post above. They have some athletic and talented girls.

The top 5-7 teams in this group are all really close.

I kinda like some of the summer tournament games because you get the occasional easy win, but the OPL is great because every game is a fight.

I also agree, not much arguing to do.

I'd say this is accurate. The top four are really interchangable.

Washington Timbers had 110 kids at their tryout today.

No one comes close to those numbers. Washington Timbers top team.

Should make for a lot of rec teams.

I thought the vt red and white were both good teams, but having large turn out for try outs doesn't in and of itself mean they are the top team(s).

Merge the top two, reload with another "A" team from the club.

Have fun playing them this year.

Merge the top two teams? I talked to several parents of red/white , asked specifically about merging teams and they were convinced they were best left intact. "Oil/water" one parent said.

Don't the girls form friendships/bonds? Can you just shake up teams like that without morale issues?

Now I give both those two teams full respect. Good teams. Just not convinced its as easy as you make it sound to make a super team out of two.
