Do you know anyone making tons of money that wants to share the profits by telling you their trade secrets? So if I have a guaranteed formula as a day trader, it would be like me sharing my secret formula with you, for free, no questions asked, no thanks necessary. Share it with the world, which will completely eliminate any advantage I hold. Just let TS know that your team needs a player to replace your daughter because the club is so good.
Should people not buy BMW’s anymore? Fiats have 4 wheels, right? Maybe they should get rid of all other cars and just sell Fiats. Then we all have to be the exact same.

We were just asked to make our first payment toward our $2,900 tuition and were told that our monthly payment would be reduced 25% if we are able to just practice and not play games.
League season starts on September 26th and we'll have 12 games between 9/26 and 10/31 (including 4 Columbus Day Weekend games).
Not sure how Select parents can reconcile what's going on there with what some of the other top girls clubs are doing.

By no means and not the same poster. I am not like you trying to tell other parents what they should purchase and decide based on a limited, intangible perspective. You are so fortunate to be part of the computer age. What would you do if you had to have courage to express these irrational thoughts in real life?

The highest burnout rate in Ma.
Play a lot and you will improve. At u8-u15 winning means nothing.

Can you imagine for $4200 your daughter gets to play in only 3/4 games the entire fall season? That is crazy! To me, that is a complete rip off! They need to refund at least 1/2 of the $4200. As the koolaide drinking dad always says "select is more than just soccer" yah that's fun and dandy and all but...... don't you join select mainly to play competitive soccer????? It's great to be "more than just soccer" but doesn't soccer come 1st still? lol $4200 NOT to play soccer!

It costs x amount to run their building (taxes, insurance, utilities)
It costs x amount to pay their staff
It costs x amount to field rentals/permits (they haven’t given up much field time they committed too a while in advance, meaning they are still on the hook for the fields)
It costs x amount to pay league and referee fees (saving money on Referee fees for DPL/GAL)
The only cost they can 100% control is tournament fees, which have coach travel costs also associated with them.
More than likely you parents are paying to keep the lights on at the building (due to lost revenue at the bar, outside rental revenue, and indoor league revenue), and for the field time they got stuck with do to contracts. Something had to give to balance their books.

They are afraid that by speaking up their kid will get benched and demoted.
It is sad they are hiding behind the COVID thing outright making like they are afraid of the virus spread still. They are going to CT and NH for GAL and not following the MA guidelines,
If they came and were more honest about it, I think it would sit better with everyone on here complaining about, I know the owners where Dunkin Donuts Franchisees at some point and don’t know how good of a financial savings they have, but they probably could have floated roughly 100k to put 40 teams in tournaments this fall:
Or the parents 75% them being top 5% earners could have come up with the difference if they could really prove their revenue was too short to go. What could it be $150 a kid tops, and that would cover the coaches food, hotel, gas and tournament fees

It also shows why, parents should advocate for a la carte tournament fees,
Only pay the fees if your team is accepted by the tournament you apply to.
I know some people like to pay all at once, but you are letting them do whatever you want with the money, unless you sign iron clad contract forcing them to spend it a certain way.
