There was speculation that two things may happen:
1) OC May use MV and sima as a “residency option “ to recruit national top players into the MLS academy. Not many expected this to happen, but it certainly is feasible.

2) MV would use the OC Academy to recruit more full paying resident players and slot them into the Academy whether they are DA level talent or not.

when rosters post, all you have to look for is where the kids live...that will answer questions... son is on 16/17 and there are quite a few kids from other states now going to school at monteverde....

Ok....are they scholarshiped into MV cause they are studs? Or, are rich moms and dads from out of state footing the MV bill so their little scrub soccer son can be part of a DA?

Take a guess, paying is better than not. They charged a fortune for preseason camp for a funded program.

Sounds like the best Central Florida can hope for is the Brazilian Owner sells to someone who is all in from the bottom to the top.

For $400 not to much. Worse thing is some did not have to pay while others had to. Coach favoritism.

And starters from last season are going to see reduced playing time because that roster is something like 24-26 players.

I heard that too that coaches let some players slide without paying.

And that happened to our son. Coaches told us he would get position on ECNL team with possibility on DA in future, trying to dangle that carrot. 4 years at OC and time for a new start, taking him to other ECNL club here.

$450 was the going rate. Not horrible for 3 nights 4 days of training and team building.

We were told it was DAonly kids and no one else?? U mean they had non DA kids there...

Maybe not but why were coaches not charging some players, doesn't seem fair that some players were given a free ride.
