This wasn't FYSA Bucks, different line item in their budget all together. It was a big deal 2017 AGM. He was stumbling all over himself trying to explain it. It was in a workshop.

Sounds like someone is disgruntled that the Region A guy didn't win. Thank God, that Region is beyond a shi*show. Don't need anyone from down there running anything.

Any talk about why FSPL is so weak this year and how to stop the tide of teams bolting to USclub?

There is chatter that USYS is talking to US Club again. Better cooperation at that level would be a good start.

FYSA is hamstrung by its members voting in favor of dumb rules or amending rules that tie their hands. FYSA is obligated to abide by and defend the bylaws and rules that the members pass at the AGM. FYSA would be able to do a lot more to compete with US Club if affiliate clubs would stop being so darned protective of their little fiefdoms and acknowledge that better product is what keeps people from going to other clubs. Not geographic monopolies. Take care of your own club and stop worrying about what the guys down the street are doing.

Want to compete against US Club? Relax the state's association rules rather than making them harsher. Haggling over tryout dates and whether a field is 5, 10, 15, or 20 miles away from another just tears each other apart and the challenges waste precious resources at the club and association level.

And for the love of Messi, will affiliates stop proposing rules that would govern what freaking color players are allowed to wear or what logo is on the darned jersey? If you can't tell what team you're playing by checking your schedule and the other team's roster, you're too stupid to coach. These proposals waste time year in and year out and don't do a thing to get more kids playing soccer.

Not sure why this is so hard for people to understand. They complain that clubs are going USCS to skirt the FYSA rules. Well, duh! Maybe that means the rules are the problem in the first place. The member clubs make it harder on themselves and then blame it on the association. Smart. Not.

What rock does your club live under? How did you not hear about that? Did your club media chairman just announce integration plans for the "interweb" and this new "electronic mail" platform?

                    Sincerely,

Disgruntled Coach who stole a team and now has to buy new uniforms to play under a non-local clubs banner because there aren't any US Club leagues worth a flip unless you are an elite team and like to do more travelling than Styx cover band.

Sports is privatizing. For profit club affiliates like FC Barcelona, PSG. Valencia, etc, are going to expand and they will eventually spread to all parts of the state. They will pretty much kill or continue to degrade recreational and non-profit programs until the whole sport reverses its grown and drops down to an afterthought. Then when there is no money to be made those clubs will close down or leave and we can try and rebuild the sport from scratch and do it right.

                      Sure, we will have lost several decades and generations of kids but hey . . . it's all about the benjamins . . . . errrr . . . free market . . . errrr . . . children!!!

Couldn't be more off base if you tried. Not a coach, never have been, never will be. Maybe you could try responding to the points rather than being a dimwit smartass.

Yup, FYSA members push for rules that prevents the association from growing and then complain that the association is not doing enough to compete with US Club. The 15 mile rule is a joke, they think it will protect their clubs when in reality the smaller clubs get weaker by the same ridiculous rules they put in place, which forces some of the smaller clubs to merge with the bigger clubs anyway. If you are concerned that a rogue coach or "academy" will setup shop in our area then you should ask why the players are choosing to be there instead of your club...

Ok so I take it no changes that will help. out of curiosity, did they change the tryout dates or any other changes that might be relevant to anything?
