Originally posted by Unregistered View PostActually it is. Parents new to the higher level leagues are easily fooled by commitment lists. Lists aren't entirely reflective of development but are one indicator of what college coaches think of players from those clubs. Players who are supposedly recruited but aren't actually on rosters - mistakes by the clubs or outright dishonesty? Good for parents to know. Same with whether or not players actually are playing in college. Many are not by junior year no matter where they trained. It's the harsh reality of college soccer. Good for parents to keep that in perspective also

2017 Single Season College Soccer Quality Analysis
As determined by % of schools on commit list that made the NCAA postseason (in D1, D2, or D3) for Fall 2017. To remain objective we are looking only at whether that college was considered in the top 64 schools (top 48 for D2) for that single season.
YU – 0 of 16 = 0%
OW – 2 of 14 = 14%
FSA – 2 of 13 = 15%
CFC – 8 of 28 = 29%

Only .5% of all female high school aged players play GDA or ECNL. If you play there, and want to play in college, you will. The rest of the leagues will have to fight it out for what's left.

This "analysis" is basically an assessment of the placement ratio for the last club a given child played for. There are a number of kids on the FSA commitment list that spent many many years at other clubs. Ditto CFC and Yankee. Kids move around. The value of the list is kind of meaningless unless you assume it to measure the given "sway" a given club has in getting college coaches to look at your kid.
