By the way, NEU/United is an "old" club? Smells like new money to me.
They just got punked on the boys' side by a rival coach, who pulled the biggest heist in Oregon boys youth soccer since Jo Capula looted Westside a few years back.

And yes, NEU's been around for a while, they are an "old" club. Not as old as FC, but it's not like they formed yesterday.

Keep pretending that the success of blue-chip clubs in California and Texas, who happen to have US Club affiliation, will magically make your team better. FC's girls program has gone downhill in the past two years. Quite a few of the OYSA girls teams are better than FC. CU at least has a successful ECNL program that got several teams to Redmond and one to Richmond.

Now put Thornz Asylum in ECNL and watch the bloodbath. If you think the losing in watered-down GDA playing teams like PSV and Burlingame was bad, it would be 10x worse if they were in ECNL.
Thorns Academy would probably be beaten by the top California ECNL teams. They'd easily be competitive in the northwest division of ECNL--unless the Crossfire Premier or Seattle Reign GDA teams were to also move to ECNL, in which case those would probably be the strongest teams.

And FC would be the team that the other clubs pad their goal differential against.

“Probably”... hahahahaha. That word should not be in that sentence. They’d get their butts whooped. Thorns can’t even even beat the NorCal GDA teams who aren’t very good(except the Quakes) by Cali standards since the top NorCal team rejected GDA and remained ECNL from the get go.

Some OYSA teams and rcl teams are better than Ecnl teams.

Doesn't take more than a minute to look that up.

This is the real point, some oysa teams are better then ECNL teams, some GDA teams are better then ECNL teams and some ECNL teams are better then GDA teams.

To say you need to play in one league over another (especially in Oregon) just isn't true.

If you find value paying ECNL fees great, if you find value in OYSA great, same for GDA but for goodness sake stop thinking you are better than anyone else.

I don't think NEU is more than 5 years old. Sure there were rec teams from NE that would do an occasional tournament, but I think they were called wy'east or alameda.

I'm not sure that Oregon needs more than one club in each of the premier girls' platforms. For GDA, that's Thorns. For ECNL, that's obviously Crossfire United at this point. That way elite players from Oregon can choose which platform they prefer (HS or no HS), and FC can focus on being an excellent neighborhood/feeder club (including a few likely State Cup championships, and maybe even success at Regionals), like it's boys' program has been successfully supplying talent to Timbers Academy.

These things don’t last long. It all seems like a good idea when bright, shiny and new. Then people realize it is the same scam of empty promises since the directors have no clue.

Empty promises?

Nonsense.

United PDX promised their 05 DA team a vacation tournament to Spain, and they played in a vacation tournament in Spain.

Even came in third in their group, and won a consolation game. Woohoo!

04 Wash T in the finals for x fire Challenge. Perhaps CU and Fcp Ecnl should join OYSA to get better competition and development.

This is stupid.

Everyone knows that cu and Fcp Ecnl teams aren't even best in state and everyone should realize this by now instead of listening to their lying.

Just look at the results, none of their teams would be top 10 in Washington.

CU 03s are really good.

'Really good' compared to the rest of their 5 teams, for sure.

But what does that mean?

CU's line up of teams is nothing to write home about.

The 03 team from GPS is much stronger and that's just in our little state.

No Surprise, decent Oregon teams (mid table OYSA) have always been spanked by decent Washington teams. The realities of 'Rich'mond coming home to the PNW.
