    2002 cfc npl

The 2018/2019 roster has 15 players whereas there were 22 on the roster for 2017/2018. One player moved up to the ECNL team, but six girls dropped off the roster? What happened?

I was thinking that some 2002 CFC South (Arsenal) players could be moved up to the NPL team, so I checked out that roster for 2018/2019:

No roster. No nothing. No more CFC Chelsea either, which was a lower level alternative.

What is going on at CFC in southwestern CT?

The rosters on the website are all kerfuffled. CFC Chelsea is now just CFC South.

I compared roster names from last year and it looks like the 6 missing players are now on fsa npl

Reality starts to set in around junior year. NPL has the basically the same grind as the ECNL without the huge upside of the national events where the kids actually get the college looks.

Probably not worth the time and expense to end up on a D3 roster where you could be anyway without the hassle.

I thought FSA doesn't publish rosters?

because Junior in high school NPL is a dead end money grab

I wouldn't read too much into any of it. The club isn't always exactly prompt with updates. Also, in the fall some kids move around once HS is done.

As for doing NPL as a junior? It has merits if you just really want to play and aren't on an ECNL roster. If you're doing it for recruiting, let's just say you're going to have to do a lot of on campus ID events to get seen. NPL is now the #3 league. Players will still get recruited from here but it will be fewer in number, lower in quality and lower in numbers.

Roster listed isn’t accurate. I see at least 3-4 kids on the team not listed. Maybe they didn’t register yet? That roster is at 19-20.

They probably stopped playing altogether. Do you really think they liked it that much?

Of course most still love it. That team did pretty well last year, I think finishing 3rd? some teams, including FSA, had one win all season. If you're going into junior year and not getting much college interest, or maybe you're questioning your desire to play in college altogether, then spending so much time and money may come into question. There are still many opportunities to get recruited as a junior, especially for D3. But D1 dreams start to fade quickly. Junior year is a very demanding year academically also, so a few kids might shift their priorities.

That said, I wouldn't read anything into the roster listed yet. Who shows up in November is what matters
