If your kid isn’t on the team, how on earth would you know any of this?

Has UConn or any of the CT or New England schools released their incoming classes?

UConn should have announced players on social media by now

And how well did they do? Just because a player comes from west coast or out of country does not mean they are good. It means they reside on west coast or out of country.

Just look at who gets recruited to top programs or makes NT lists (I think 13 CA players were on the U16 list this last round). It's dominated but West coast players. That isn't just because of the population size but also they're just better players. Also look at who plays the most. On many rosters they may have 6 internationals but those 6 play all the time.

It has to do with population but also climate. They can play outdoors year round in CA, TX and FL, and not OW kind of outdoors with shovels and ice picks for the snow, parkas and leggings to stave off hypothermia.

why are you looking at U16? is the u20 team dominated by CA players? This is a myth

No it's more about size and the quality of clubs and soccer culture. FL isn't much of a soccer powerhouse these days. They only had one player on the latest call up, same as CT with a much bigger population and obviously better weather

Why is looking at the U16 team an indicator of where the best players are? Selective example that proves nothing.

For one team definitely. Someone posted about the U20s not having many CA players, yet they do have a lot of West coast players. But "in general" the west coast and a few other states do "generally" dominate the NT lists and top D1 recruiting. CT certainly isn't a big player on the national stage. We get a unicorn very rarely.

One team may be because that is where the coaching staff come from and know.

                            Coincidence? I think not.

while CA may have "better soccer players", simple math would seem indicate they would have more NT players than most other states. CA has around 10% of U.S. population, CT around 1%! so, one could predict CA having 10x CT
