Bur we’re wealthy and we deserve it more.

Of course a lot of them can play. I never said the list should be exclusively NEPSAC players.
With that said, about ten percent of the players on this list are from NEPSAC schools, and that's silly. It's not as though soccer talent is randomly scattered about. NEPSAC teams, especially the boarding schools (who aren't limited to players within a certain radius of their campuses), can recruit. And as a result, the top NEPSAC teams are simply operating on a different plane than the top MIAA teams. You'd know that if you had ever watched them. But even if you haven't, look at who's playing on the top club teams, compared to who's playing on the club that's one or two levels down. Look at who gets recruited at top colleges. Are all the top players in NEPSAC? Not at all, but it's way more than ten percent.

Top academic schools are rarely top soccer schools.

Well said. This analysis is exactly right.

How many NEPSAC players are headed to those schools?

How many other top 50’s have similar academic standards?

I bet the rivers coach isn’t a member of United Soccer Coaches association thus making his players ineligible for honors !

Very few players, NEPSAC or otherwise, are going to play at the highest level in D1. In fact, very few players from this region are going to play in D1 at all, as the various commitment threads, and the periodic follow-up analyses posted in those threads, show. The more realistic objective is D3. And if you look at D3: Tufts and Amherst just played for the national championship. More broadly, the strongest leagues, year in and year out, are the NESCAC, the UAA and the Centennial--which are also probably the three leagues whose members are strongest academically. So the claim that top academic schools are rarely top soccer schools simply couldn't be more incorrect.

Are NEPSAC players generally a year older than other players?

Depends on the school. There are kids in the public HS who stayed back somewhere along the way, but at certain private schools (Brooks, Milton, Bel Hill, Sebs), however, the repeat year is pretty common among athletes, at others (Middlesex, RL, Groton) less so. Then of course there are the NEPSAC schools that have post-grads--none of those are in the ISL, but many of the western MA, Conn, and NH boarding schools have that group.

Not really. A lot of NEPSAC boys repeated.

KS from Wachusett is one the best forwards in the state. By far the most athletic. Broke the scoring record at Wachusett. He’s touted as one of the best athletes to ever come out of Wachusett in 60 years. The best part....never stepped on a club field. Playing baseball at Umass Amherst.

Your welcome son. Congrats to a kid playing a sport that never spent a penny on club soccer. You spent thousands, his parents spent 0. Not sure of another kid in the state that could play D1 in hockey, soccer , and baseball.
