It depends where ( which club ) a majority of the players from a particular region flock to. More players = more money = more resources typically. It varies form region to region, which clubs tend to be the “ strongest “. It also varies widely by age and gender groups. Sometimes the teams look stronger at a tournament by playing weaker competition. Unless you are at ECNL or DA level, play on a team where your kid is enjoying their soccer experience and learning the game. It doesn’t really matter otherwise, but people will tell you it does $$$$$$

Nobody said DA or ECNL is always better in its entirety, but when you get to that level there aren’t as many choices per region compared to NPL and below.

top recruits don't come from GPS. DA or ECNL is the path for top recruits. D3 GPS is fine.

All GPS regions compete at an extremely high level. All could play DA.

What? You’re delusional. In fact GPS was just relegated out of DA while other local clubs had their roles expanded. That’s fairly damning demonstrable proof of US Soccer’s evaluation of the GPS coaching staff and player pool.

NPL top teams get scouted at 2-3 major tournaments per year. DA and ECNL have scouts at every regular season game and then an enourmous number of coaches at showcase tournaments.

Their NPL teams certainly could. Not because they are of the quality DA wants, but because DA beyond the top 3 players is comprised of lower than NPL players.
