Just when I thought that I’ve seen it all.

This thing truly takes the cake. God help the kids of the crazy parents that get caught up in this mess.

We have an academy program here in CT. We also have an above average ECNL program as well as an average one. Plenty of options for the top end of the soccer player pool in CT. Plenty of kids outgrow the smaller programs, it’s part of the deal and why the big programs aggregate talent.

If your kid isn’t getting the nod for one of the larger programs, don’t fall for this. No CT kid especially from Ginga’s area should EVER drive to Long Island for soccer

Only knock I ever hear on Ginga is that eventually teams disband when the lure of ECNL and or DA comes knocking. Everson goes out an creates a pathway that allows current and future players to make the transition from his club to a partner club and now you are knocking that? Cant have it both ways...…….

This makes total sense and should only be viewed as the next logical step in the evolution of a very successful Ginga program that only started 5 years ago.

If you are critical of this announcement, then you don't know Everson and you don't know how much he is looking out for his players.

It's not a pathway. It's a marketing gimmick. The local so called pathway is OW or NYSC. Very few Ginga players are skill appropriate anyway.

Op here - it's not about OW quality but the lack of quality at Ginga. I agree OW thinks their the bomb because they're in GDA now. But they're the same teams they were two years ago; decent NPL level teams. Just because a few teams are doing well in GDA only shows how weak NE GDA is. Ginga sends a few players to ECNL or DA and that's it. If my kid wanted DA (she doesn't; she's very happy in ECNL and plays on a great HS team) there's no way we'd consider Fury. We'd look at OW and NYSC. If she didn't make those teams then so be it. Treking out to LI is sheer lunacy; Fury is only midlevel GDA and GDA has it's own tremendous issues.
