They are supposed to quarantine for 10 days. Unfortunately a lot of these parents think the rules do not apply to them or their kids and plan on being back at school and work on Monday. We just had a similar discussion for an upcoming out of state tournament, a few parents aren't going due to this while others don't care and are planning to send their kids to school after. Instead of cancelling the trip (meaningless tournament none showcase) the club asked year younger players to fill in the gaps.

Absolutely disgusting that most are willing to break and bend the rules these teams and clubs should be called out. Can’t go to school, can’t go to work but you can fly to Fla for a soccer tournament??? At least follow the rules when you get back. If you’re willing to sacrifice school for soccer that’s fine but don’t jeopardize everyone else’s health by breaking the rules. Common courtesy and common sense.

That's because is part of the profit stream for the league ...they know exactly when the event is before it's announced yet they still book all the rooms at higher than normal $$$...they block the rooms at a net price and mark them up ...diff is all profit

On my kid's town team we went to a few PA tournaments and always got our own hotel rooms. We never had an issue.

It's the higher level events that use the travel agencies. The event organizers mandate a minimum number of rooms via the travel agency or risk being booted from the event. It should be illegal but it's part of the "click here to agree" contracts clubs sign when they register for events. If the event is high demand clubs have little choice - are they going to tell families "Oh we're not going to this great event out of principal over hotel rooms?" Of course not.

Well, if the last 14 months have shown us common sense and courtesy for others has left the room for stupidity and selfishness.

FWIW I was in FL recently for work. Masks were worn in stores etc and flying was fine, but everywhere else you'd never know there was still a pandemic. My employer wanted me to stay home for a few days then get PCR tested.

They have no control over this decision. Clearly you have an axe to grind though.

This is unacceptable and it’s occurring without care or consequence. Not even self enforced by the academies, they are supposed to shut down for 10 days no training and no games. I know our club did upon return from Jeff Cup.

That's about all a club can do. They can remind parents to follow state guidelines but certainly can't enforce it. One thing the last year has shown us is that there's way too large a percentage of people who either don't care about anyone but themselves and - or think they're above the rules. Great life lesson for their kids too.

Our club shut down for ten days as well after JeffCup. New Jersey is the only state left with this quarantine sh*t.

Does this mean that GA clubs playing in FL will have to cease training and games for 10 days upon return and also the poor kids miss multiple days of in person schooling? That’s complete bull****.

So now it's moved to NC? But PDA is also doing a separate one Father's Day weekend? Or doing both?

Yes that's the recommendation most clubs are adhering to

                                Rules-Muwahahahahahahah.

At what age did you get castrated?

How about you follow the "rules" and maybe you will get a pony for your birthday and jimmies on your ice cream if your allowed by your overlords in Government that is.

Do politicians care at all about the electorate? I'll help you out with the answer to that. Big fat NO.

Do you think they care because they are telling you what to do?

I think it is possible you may have government confused with parenting.
