    Lack of respect for coaches

It’s amazing the lack of thanks and respect for the coaches that put in so much time, effort, thought into each and every session and game. The players and families just take it fir granted thinking that just because they pay lots of money their behaviour is quite justified. They club hop leaving one academy in the dust for another, zero loyalty, zero thanks, zero appreciation. Go thank a coach today for all they do for you, too many unappreciative families out there. These people have done a lot even through a pandemic.

Every situation is different, and loyalty is a two-way street.

From a true academy perspective, if a coach starts a player he recruits after just 3 practices, and this player isn't the 2nd coming of Messi, what does this tell parents about loyalty.

From a coaches perspective, I've always said things and acted with complete transparency.

However, how that coach feels about you, is whether you are on that roster or not before game day. And, you don't need a meeting with a coach to understand that.

I feel for the player working hard to rise, but a coach plays the players who arrived, recently. Where's the competition there? Where's the loyalty? Depending on the field position, how much risk was there?

This happened to us at CSA, paid our dues for years and then got pushed out when new players came in that frankly were no better. I guess it could happen anywhere but still did not feel it was handled well. Talk about no loyalty and no thanks.

Coach Sean McC at WCFC is one cool dude. Not easy to manage 2 rosters of girls that runs 40 deep. Keep on keeping on.

Respect is earned. Some coaches are barely present, on their phones more than actually coaching, put no effort into structured practices or game prep, let alone player development. When you find one that does out in the effort, cares about each player as individuals instead of game results, hold in to them, even follow them if they move. They will have more impact on your kid's development than a club does

If customers are happy they're much more likely to stay. Pretty basic Business 101 thinking. Some families will club hop no matter what you do so screw them, but if you're loyal to players and families you're much more likely to get it in return

                      Does somebody need a hug?
Grow up. It’s a business. Coaching is their job.when is the last time you thanked your kid’s dentist, lunch lady or principal. Adults don’t need continual validation.... egotistical, narcissistic, little boys do.

Typical response from today’s youth footballing parent. Quite shocking and certainly proves the original post is spot on even more.

Let's keep it real and just admit that there is not only great, hardworking coaches out there. Agree that if you do have a great coach, the experience is much different. We saw both and it's really hard to be loyal and appreciative if the coach or the club does not have the best interest of your kid in mind in terms of development. It's also not in the best interest to be loyal if all the sudden your team goes from a 10 kid roster to a 17 kid roster mid season playing 7v7. So many scenarios where it's not the parents fault that they are not "appreciative".

Quite “shocking”??? Hahahahaha! Let’s give all the coaches trophies!!!
Loyalty is earned- excellent coaches aren’t bitching on here, they have their loyal team. Bad coaches, bad environments do not deserve loyalty. Hell.... they already get 4K.
You, my sir.... are a pussy.

Respect is a two way street. There are many coaches that will replace players rather than develop the players they have. The coaches also jump from club to club. So please stop with this thank a coach. Last time I checked they are paid well. And if they don’t like it then they can find a new profession.
