To all the coaches, refs, etc. out there, don’t let your guard down with the Spring season here. Follow the guidelines and make sure the parents and players are too for everyone’s safety. This virus keeps evolving.

Everything under the sun is a big deal for him. He projects gloom and doom onto everything without scientific data .... sorry, outside sports have shown very little spreading of the virus.

Sports itself isn't the issue - especially low contact outdoor sports like soccer, lax and baseball. The problem is socializing on and off the field. Our HS is back to temporary distance learning and two teams out on quarantine thanks to a party.

Sorry but that's just bad parenting. Yea lets let our kids party during covid. okay.
                Dumb.
We don't need to shut down for those parents.

Unless you're practicing indoors, which plenty of people still are this spring. Or playing indoors, for which we have some scheduled games. Or hanging out and eating, which people are still doing.

He also said people don't need to wear masks. Then later changed it to you need to wear two masks.

There's no way that 22 kids on a field wearing masks, or not wearing a mask, is causing covid.

yes please lets lump all sports together (indoor basketball vs wrestling vs outdoor soccer)

yes lets just ignore that restaurants and movie theaters and gyms are opening more and more

and don't forget that schools are going back full time indoors with masks one while soccer is outdoor and masks on with reasonably good adherence. there seems to always be 1 or 2 kids who continually have their masks down- I'm reasonably certain that they are coached for that by their parents but it doesn't take away from the overall double protection of being in the freaking outdoors and having almost everyone wearing a mask.

please spare me a river and worry about something that's actually dangerous like the sleepovers and house parties that are back in full swing.
