Joined CFC as a satellite team, not ECNL or ECRL. Some good players but not a lot of depth and lots of parents who think their kids are going to Power 5 schools.

5 also went in the WC 06 regional team. All these players leaving ny sc to play on ecnl 2nd teams. They must have done a pretty bad job of communicating when da went away.

For the most part the better players in the area were already with WC/NYCFC. Most NYSC GDA teams weren't very strong, in a region that is weak to begin with. NYSC has always been more of a boys club also.

NYSC was building a pretty good girls program but losing DA cut them off at the knees right when they were trending upwards. Maybe not to the WC level but a good option. 07 team is very good and the 05 was good but you cant lose 20 players across 2-3 age groups and just promote second team players and maintain the level.

Given the population density, demand and location they would be a great fit for ECNL. GAL will get them nowhere

The issue is the player pool is not great in westchester/fairfield.

Absolutely true GAL has been underwhelming to say the least. Clubs and top players jumping to ECNL by the week. Will become like EDP 2.0 at this pace.

Totally disagree, especially after CFC moved way up the line. Getting there from lower Fairfield county in rush hour is a nightmare.

I think NYSC would struggle to get back the players it has lost already. You cannot lose 15+ players across just two teams, who all choose B or C teams elsewhere, and not be doing something really wrong.

If they got the ECNL badge it wouldn't be an issue at all - at least not with teams<U!5. Once you hit the high school years players are less likely to move but the ECNL badge might entice some. However, it still remains a boys centric club so they'd need to really beef up the girl's coaching

it certainly is interesting that mediocre players in CT can pretty easily make ECNL teams because CFC and FSA are so close and for some the trip to MA isn't even bad while in the northern NJ, Rockland, Westchester & Putnam area you have to be pretty damn good because despite the population there's really only World Class, unless you are ok with the hour+ drive to CFC.

That surprised me as well. So many players from a decent, not great, DA team had no issue getting spots on ECNL clubs. I anticipated more competition.

Just speaking about nysc in wetschster, some pretty quality players tried for the WC teams and the vast majority were placed on the second teams. The pool of competition in the NJ/NY area is so much bigger than CT it makes no sense to have FSA there when they could swap for NYSC which would pull from a player pool thats way bigger.

An ECNL badge does not make a great club. Why do people think that if such in such club got the badge they could be so much better by recruiting better players? Jesus, if the clubs did what they were paid to do ie train the players no one would want to move except to a club that has better training.

I'd say some of these clubs do a good job but the lack of badge means they just lose the players around u13-14 and up. STA was doing a good job of training but in the end those kids move to play ECNL.
