NEFC and Seacoast account for 50 % of the NEP. With them gone, plus2-3 other clubs you are left with what? The cartel got what it wanted?

You have the same lower-level clubs that have been around for years and years in a lower-leveler league (NSL/CCL/NECSL) alongside NEP, which has the bigger clubs that usually have better quality players. You keep seeing shuffling at the upper level GA/DPL/NPL, but few, if any, bigger clubs pulling out of NEP entirely.

CCL has nothing to do NECSL!!!!!!!!!
When NSL ceased to exist John Barata the Oliver Ames Boys Varsity Coach and owner of Legacy Soccer Club of Easton, did not have a spot to put his team as NEP was not taking any so he founded CCL to take all those teams before NECSL was started.
NECSL is ran by Sean Carey the former League Director of the NEP, founder of DPL, founder of RDL, and founder of NEGDL
NECSL was founded when GPS fell as Sean Carey, is a close ally and friend of the former GPS owners and management, when they all fled to Surf and Juventus they needed a league to play in. With Seacoast taking over the FCUSA teams, the NEP board not letting Seacoast MA play in NEP/NPL that also played a factor. Also a bunch of the CT teams were not happy with the NEP and that is how NECSL came about.
When the NEP opened Club Applications this year Legacy applied and got in, giving JB from Hanson giving little need to run the league in the future, it sounds like it is going to run this fall but I would give it no guarantees it runs in the fall.

Where is the moderator???
Why is someone using names on this site?
NSL did not cease to exist it became the CCL in 2019. JB has not been the league representative since January 1, 2021.
SC is the founder of NECSL. He is running the NECSL with the same playbook as the NEP.
Seems like someone here has an axe to grind with JB and SC. Sad trolls.

Agreed. USYS NECSL and EDP will be the featured league in a couple years. ECNL 2 will be the final nail in the NEP / NPL coffin.

"SC is the founder of NECSL. He is running the NECSL with the same playbook as the NEP."
New SC in NEP and now in NECSL. The above statement is not true. NEP is run by a few clubs for their own benefit. NECSL is run neutrally by SC with the assistance of others like JT from EDP. Yes, there are small clubs because if you meet the requirements you are in, unlike NEP. In the end I believe open is always better than closed.

Can we just nuke all these leagues and start from scratch with ONE single league with multiple divisions within each age group? Regional games at the lower divisions, longer distances to travel as you go further up divisions.
Nuke them all.

Wouldn’t it make sense to rebrand NPL as ECNL 2?
Maybe they should call it "ECNL NPL" which would let them have the "ECNL" on their badge ;)
