Coincidence that Reid took a leave of absence not long after this reported assault?

His bio (still up) says he was a transfer from Louisville. I would hope that they would’ve alerted UCONN if they thought he was going to be a safety issue.

If they thought - if there were no incidents there's nothing to tell. A similar problem with background checks - if someone hasn't been caught doing something yet it won't show up.

Kid was very successful as a player at Louisville. There has to be more to his transfer.

Another loss to Villanova. This TEAM has no pride . Just recruit in Conn at least we will be giving Conn kids a education

Sorry CT pops, international players are a big factor in men's soccer. UConn has plenty of CT players but they're not getting the PT. Happens at lots of big programs. Families are happy to get on a roster and pay in-state rates. Now that doesn't necessarily mean coach knows how to recruit or utilize players, but limiting his recruiting to just CT would be foolish. There isn't enough talent and not all of them want to play for UConn

Maybe, maybe not. Lots of successful players transfer because either the school or program isn't a good fit for them. He is from NY so maybe he wanted to be closer to home. If the Louisville coach knew and didn't say anything? Can that be proven and are there repercussions? Did he share that info with UConn and they took him anyway? He did take a leave of absence shortly after this incident. Could be coincidental timing but is fishy

Uconn seems to take the token one or two players from CT every year. They usually dont last or get playing time. There isnt enough talent in the state and that talent does not go to uconn. Just look at the commitment list on NESJ. Quality players are going to better schools than uconn. Im not knocking uconn but its about academics, $, and fit.

Agreed. UConn is a good but not "great" school. Storrs isn't for everyone, neither is the coach. For it to be a top program the need players from all over, not even just New England, but again UConn doesn't have the same draw for national players. The women's team is faced with similar challenges.
