    Princeton Back to School plan

Here we go...the beginning of the end. Way to go, fear mongers, and those of you who bought into it. Newsflash: NO ONE college age dies! (well, statistically anyway--please spare me citing the PSU kid, or a couple others.....we're talking more die binge drinking every year, so why no prohibition??!)

    https://www.princeton.edu/news/2020/...-academic-year

How gracious of Princeton to offer a 10% discount on 50% in person education experience. And, no mention of sports, that's coming Friday, but the Ivies are DONE.

Goodbye to our entire higher education system, and given that it and college sports are a big part of our economic machine, good bye, country. None of us will live long enough to see the recovery, and years from now in history class, they will read about all the idiot Americans who f**ed their whole country because of a "pandemic" that has a long way to go before it comes close to touching a death toll of an actual one. A child has a much greater chance of getting hit by lightning.

Being a bit dramatic don't you think? Ivies are already talking about moving all fall sports to the Spring. Likely other schools that can will do the same. Face it - there are no decisions a school can make right now that won't piss off large groups of people. That's the way it is.

This is such a double edge sword....expecting parents to pay nearly full price for a clearly diminished education? We saw how the online thing went this spring. While it may be adequate, it's still not worth a 20K pricetag for a semester?? On the other hand, if the Universities don't have paying students, they can't sustain the expensive models they have all evolved into!

Will many opt out and take a gap year? Stay at home and do CC online?? Thoughts on this from those of you who have children in college? Fortunately I got mine out just in time before this **** show.

Moving things to the Spring or next year is just moving the deck chairs on the Titanic. This will still be moving through the US in the Spring and in fact won’t stop being an issue until a vaccine or herd immunity, which means the majority have been exposed.

            This is BS.

I heard the same about Friday announcement of no sports. I feel terrible for all the student-athletes. Others will follow because everyone is so caught up in he media reporting record setting CASES right now, even though the deaths are dropping dramatically and hospital beds are empty.

Do you feel better repeating the stats for young people and the lightning thing over and over and over?

The whole year? Or just fall sports?

You know this how? Oh that's right, you don't know. None of us do.

They'll likely say that they are looking at trying to move Fall sports to the Spring. Then they'll play it by ear depending on how the situation looks as it gets closer.

Harvard announced today that only 40 Percent of students will be allowed back to campus. Mostly freshmen and seniors. That means no varsity sports.

Now companies can just hire straight from high school like it should’ve always happened. One bonus is no more student debt crippling kids for years. Rich kids can continue to meet other rich kids at the ivies when they’re the only schools left standing at the end of this.

Maybe maybe not. They also said "certain: students will be on campus. No doubt it will include lab intensive hands on classes but could also include athletes.

The whole plan sounds very disruptive - some students will only go for one semester then go back home again. That's a royal pain in the azz moving back and forth

Harvard is offering two free summer school classes if you live off campus. Big f'ing whoop.
