That’s to be admired and kudos to them!

I don't see many women pursuing coaching as a career choice to begin with. I've had three kids play over the last, god I'm old, 15ish years and they've had three female coaches in all that time. Two were great, one sucked. One of the great ones moved quickly into college soccer.

Why do you think that is???? The boys club (CSA included) does not let them in to protect their own asses. It’s a vicious cycle that needs to be broken for the good of the young ladies that would benefit greatly from having strong female role models that have been there done that. Would love to see a few women coaches at the GA level! So much one can learn from European white make perspective.

All coaches start at the lower levels and even there you will see few female coaches. They don't seem to pick it as a career path. NYSC had a good one but she bolted to coach NWSL Sky Blue. Many others who are any good get into college coaching pretty quickly. Pay and benefits are better, a bit more stable....and lot less parent drama 😉

Sad reality is more parents/players of boys wouldn't walk a women coach; but are OK with either for a girls team. That alone cuts the options down for women looking to get into coaching.

The more reason a place like CSA should have women coaches on the girls side. It makes total sense.

It’s amazing that in today’s world we still have so much progress to make to create opportunities for women and minorities. When will the federation step in to dictate and enforce these changes?

lol USSF had their chances years ago. First they only created BDA, completely ignoring the girls side. That gave ECNL the opportunity to move in and get well established. Then, when the WNT filed their first lawsuit suddenly USSF came up with GDA - see we support the women! But, as we know, that was a failure out of the gate and USSF put almost no resources behind it. They assigned a few staffers and gave a piddling amount to clubs for scholarships. No free to play anywhere like BDA, clubs were encouraged to lower costs but it wasn't enforced in any manner and again no assistance to clubs to do so.

Great summary. The clubs that are still left dealing with the fallout of the GDA collapse may never recover. ECNL seized the opportunity to take complete control.

Unfortunately and sadly GAL is feeling the brunt of not only USSDA’s failures but also ECNL’s dominance and continued growth as top clubs and players continue to deflect from GA to ECNL. With this continued path GAL will in essence be the second coming of EDP.

Really? Maybe that’s your wishful thinking but definitely not reality.

ECNL is eating everyone’s lunch. 70-80% of D1 recruits coming in via that route and will only increase.

We've turned into a society of constant complaining where it's actually accepted by today's standards that if you do so you will have a better chance of actually getting your way. There's inequalities in life. Big deal. Get over it. Does anyone actually want unqualified people put in various jobs based on their skin color or gender whether it's on a soccer field or as a pilot flying people around. Yes, check out United Airline's new policy for new pilots. Where does it end? If this makes me a racist or misogynistic then I think it's time Merriam- Webster change these two words meanings in the dictionary.

GA is already lagging behind EDP in terms of quality teams in our region so they will need to step up their game if they want to play second fiddle to ECNL.

What makes you a racist is that you assume people of color put in these positions are unqualified.

That is the very definition of a racist.
