Is this TRUE? No wonder the 05 girls never has any ID clinics.
Former bucks 2005 parent here - back room deal also took place on that team - here is the post originally posted in the 2005 thread describing what went down. In the end only three of the then current bucks players were kept. Team became a combination of Lower Merion and Coppa.... no tryouts held. Loyal bucks players were kicked to the curb in favor of CM’s players and Coppa players. The kids and families were blindsided my kid has ended up in a better spot so it all worked out in the end. But keep your eyes open - knowledge is power. AND FYI you have two of the parents (SB, PR) who were architects of this back room deal on the 2008 team. You can be rest assured they will do whatever it takes to ensure their kids are given spots and will have prime positions and playing time.
From the 2005 thread:
A coach doesn't want to conform to club policies so gets fired. He convinces 4 really good players and a bunch of average players that he can do more for them in EDP than the ECNL machine can. After zero coaches showing up to their games and not even a year later he via Paul Roumey approach FC Bucks about Ignite becoming the 05 ECNL team. DM and CF basically tell them no but those kids are welcome to tryout and offer CM a team but not the 05's. PR does not like this so he reaches out to his buddy Scott Burns (their younger kids play together at Bucks) and they concoct the whole fire DM and hire CM as the DoC plan. CM takes the job and within 2 weeks blows out the entire girls side despite promising to take his time evaluating things. At the same time he proceeds to tell the Ignite team and the FC Bucks team that the only gaurantees to make the team are kids who he saw train at the NTC's, which is fair. The problem is there were only 3 of them including a goalie. A week later 16 (there was a lot of crying and begging taking place) of the eventual 20 ecnl spots were offered to players, including 3 to kids (2 turned him down to stay at PF) from outside of the two teams mentioned. That's important because he told the Ignite and FC Bucks players no kids from other clubs would be offered and he had the audacity to keep saying only 8 were offered. Promises were made of practicing at the Proving Grounds, promises were not kept. 2 players bolted. Those coaches who found out they got canned via Instagram took 90-100 players with them to other clubs. Fast forward to last Thursday and his stated intention to continue coaching our team. Why? Why would FC Bucks risk keeping him around so he can spend time convincing this team to follow him into his next folly? Why would they keep his assistants around so they can do the same with their teams? There is also his tenuous situation at Nova. It is no secret that the AD can't stand the guy and regrets the hire. So please FC Bucks just cut the cord now and let us all get some dignity back. And please keep PR via his stoop SB out of the decision making process.
Moral of the story FCB stands for FC BACKROOM DEAL...
as another poster stated run fast...run far...
