    Parent crazy ages?

First it was 98s taking up the board with crazy parents until people got tired of that. Then it was 99s and no one seems to care about them anymore besides crazy creek parents. 00s are getting some attention but now it seems 01 and 02 are gettig all the parents.

Is u10 where the craziness starts and u15 where it ends??

    Yes.

Once the kids go to their 1st HS tryout a few a few things happen

    1) Reality Therapy. The parents find out their kid is not the mega stud they thought. Welcome to JV or very limited field time.
    2) Reality Therapy Version 2. The player finds out they are not the stud they thought they were
    3) Game changes. HS soccer is legalized thuggery in most cases. This changes the game for a lot of players and freshman, in particular find themselves on the ground more than in the play.
    4) HS coach could care less what you think. He has you locked in. Are you really going to transfer schools so your student athlete can get more field time like you can when switching clubs. No .... you are going to sit down and shut up
    5) So your kid is real talent...so what. You and your child are about to get a lesson in politics. Best move...see #4. Unless you are wired in, sit down and shut up. Anything you say will only impact your player negatively and accept the fact there will be (possibly significant) player(s) on the pitch only because of who they know and not how they play.
    6) Life changes and so do priorities. Athletics are no longer a means to a goal, they are a means to an end. So now athletics are mostly about keeping your teenager busy and away from unhealthy activities and less about bragging about them and what club they are on.

So here is the short answer..in a matter of months between U14 and HS tryouts, parents are neutered (and thank god for that). They can not simply switch HS's like club. If the coach has a issue they address the PLAYER...rarely the parent. The player is competing with 4 age groups for Varsity/JV slots and later playing time. Players stop listening to parents anyway...they are HS teenagers. They go from school right to practice, or to the bus for the game. They don't even need their parents for rides anymore.

Generally ... all becomes right with the world. Parents are relegated to spectators where they belong. And if they don't behave in that role removed from the sideline by the AD....:)

That is very true. I wish that someone told me six years ago how you son WILL end up playing with players that he's disliked for years as opponents.

Absolutely well said! I would only add this: I've seen a lot of club and premiere soccer with my son and daughter. I've seen that the majority of parents get it. The crazies are a small percentage, but because they are so over the top at times, it just seems like there are more. The pleasant/ cordial encounters with opposing parents far outweigh the occasional jerk off(s).

All girl parents are crazy. 25% of boys parents are crazy, but even those crazies do not match the crazy of the girl parents. These are facts. Not up for debate. Look no further than this message board. Look no further then every pitch sideline. I rest my case.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist or Sherlock Holmes. But yes, I am smart. Thanks.
