With DA mandating that teams can’t play 3 games in a row and needing a day of rest in the showcase schedule not as many teams will be playing on Friday or Saturday. Makes for a long tournament and then throw in the travel days for the teams. Players are missing three days of school before semester finals.

            Simple solution. Don't go.

Yep. Simple communication with teachers and that whole online technology thing takes care of that. Unless you're counting on that awesome school lunch to provide the daily nutrition to your daughter.

Yes. Mine can't. Frustrating. Just have to trust the scouts know there are many players where that would not be an option

Works for the college coaches. The college players had finals and are home for the holidays. USSFDA knows how to pick its showcase dates.

Was talking to a D1 coach last night that was at the Showcase the last few days. She said it was very interesting that across all age groups the quality of the GDA teams were at 2 extremes - either very high end and really impressive or dismally poor. She said many of the college coaches were commenting on it and found it puzzling. She said that it was almost awkward that 5-8 minutes into a game a bunch of coaches would stand up, fold their chair and scurry to another field because the play was so lopsided. She said it was especially odd because theoretically the format of the showcase was to try to group teams of like abilities (similar records, level of competition, etc.).

Not sure what to make of it.........

What are they so puzzled about? If any soccer parent involved in youth soccer understands what is going on and why there is so much disparity, why cant a college coach figure it out?

                          It is not rocker science.

USSFDA is not about college. It sis for players looking to play professionally.

While it may not be about college, college is about scouting GDA. But as alluded to the coaches are scouting individual talent and won't be fooled by a GDA label. Plus most GDA teams were ECNL or travel league but yesterday.
