Lots of free time with no weekend games so some older girls decided to play HS.
If the post is true , makes all the sense in the world. Showcase in December April and June and games every other weekend sounds good. You only improve by playing what u learned during training. Very simple concept

I agree with the previous poster who said those players should be kicked out of GDA. Based on what USSF did to those ODP rebels I think that's a distinct possibility.

When the GDA break ends, the GDA players names will be on the GDA rosters which means they can not be on another roster at the same time so that will mean no high school anymore. If the player continues with high school soccer after the GDA break is over, the player and daddies must be worried about what U.S. Soccer might do to them? They will be putting their soccer GDA clubs in a hard place with U.S. Soccer too and jeopardizing the club having GDA.

What people fail to understand is the GDA daddies had their plan at GDA tryouts. They colluded with the GDA club and the high school coaches to make their plan work for their daughter to do one month of high school. He wants her to reap the benefit of wearing the school's jersey and being part of the school team even if only playing games for one month. He wants her to do signing day at the high school in a couple years too and will keep his plan going until she graduates. It will never stop unless U.S. Soccer puts its foot down!

Look for US Soccer to make an example out of the players who choose to play with their HS teams after the spring GDA season starts. This will not be pretty. Hope those players didn't burn any bridges with their previous clubs.

Player says "can't join the high school team until mid December when my GDA commitment is completed after the Showcase" and then at the end of January she says "can't join GDA practices and games until my high school playoffs commitment is over". She is playing every one for herself.

Frankly, any student who signs with a College should be recognized by the school whether or not they play for any school team or not. The whole point of National Signing Day is to say congratulations to the students. It is not intended to be a "look at me" moment for the school.

There are GDA players who did not do high school like good little followers and they were expecting their teammates to be at GDA practices too. Any GDA player who does not go back at the end of January for GDA training to prepare for the games the first week in February should be terminated from GDA. The rules were up front by U.S. Soccer and they aren't to be broken by a few who decide high school playoffs are more important than the academy deal they agreed to.

Playing in front of 20 school students isn't that big a deal either.
